Bob, Schicke says the don't deliver to the US, but you can order at www.fk-leichtflugzeuge.de. There you can also call Mr. Horle Tel. 00496232/72076. Hope this helps. Regards Roland PH-ZTI XS Trigear 914 Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=374348#374348

    Subject: Radio disturbance
    From: "Roland" <schmidtroland@web.de>
Friends, its me again. This time I discover problems with massive radio disturbance. I changed to a Silent Hectic voltage regulator, made a 45 minute flight and everything was fine. On the next start up a week later the current was only 11,7 volts (engine started but Rotax Flydat remained dark). The reason was the regulator which was not working/charging the battery, thus radio on the last 45 minute flight worked (perfect) on battery power only. Original Ducati/Rotax regulator reinstalled and it was charging. BUT: the radio was disturbed so badly (I also heard all sorts of electrical consumers like trim, transponder etc. with the waste gate controller motor being the worst). I also had to open the squelch the whole flight to understand ATC. Since I bought my Europa used, I cannot completely exclude a fundamental fault in the electric system (earth?). Any ideas much appreciated. Regards Roland PH-ZTI XS Trigear 914 Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=374349#374349

Here's how I did my iPad mount. It is a RAM mount system I purchased last year at AirVenture. It can be adjusted a fair bit to bring it closer to the pilot or to allow the passenger to operate it. >From the front: >From the back, showing the mount: I think the clamping bar should be turned so the tightening fixture is down. That way it can be operated more easily from the front of the unit. I may get another ball mount and try it on the mount location on the right and middle of the mount as it may provide more freedom of movement. Hope this helps. Subject: Vortex Generators
Hi Family, An Austrian Monowheel Classic owner is thinking about to install on his wings Vortex Generators? Is there somebody who had made that and what was the result out of this? Is it helpful or will this destroy the benefit of the Europa wings? Some wise and technical information would be helpful - thank you. Best Regards, Bruno Reith

Bruno Hi! Being practical about the vortex generators and knowing very little technically I would have first thought NO. But...... The Classic wings are all subtly different so I'm sure and that may mean that some would benefit from VG's. With XS wings I would think a definite No no. Many have added stall strips to correct other builder characteristics that have manifested themselves after completion. I'm happy to know that my lack of expertise will bring forth comments that will render a proper answer from others better qualified. Will be interested to read advice. Regards Gerry

    Subject: Flight over Belgian territory
Opinions have previously been expressed on this forum regarding the temporary permission required for =9Cpermit=9D aircraft to operate over Belgian territory. In preparation of my planned flight to the Europa fly-in at Popham in June, I have just been granted such a permit. The charge has now increased to =82=AC92. There are, however, some new provisions in the permit worth noting by anyone contemplating to fly through Belgian airspace without a prior permission: - In addition to filing a Flight Plan for each flight, =9Ceach flight (date, route, type of the flight and the registration marks) has to be notified in advance to the e-mail address <mailto:fpl.temporarypermittofly@mobilit.fgov.be> fpl.temporarypermittofly@mobilit.fgov.be=9D. - Latest by the day after the requested period for flights in Belgium ends, =9Cthe operator shall inform the Belgian CAA of the operated flights in Belgium by transmitting a list indicating the overflight dates.=9D Naturally, I have no way of knowing whether this indicates that a link has been created between air traffic control/flight plans for border crossings and the office issuing the temporary permits, with consequences for those not following the rules. Hoping to see many from all corners of Europe at Popham! Regards, Svein LN-SKJ

Hi Bruno, Contact Bud Yerly at Custom Flight Creations. He's the U.S. distributor for Europa and has done quite a bit of work investigating vortex generators on both Classic and XL wings. He should be able to provide counsel. Blue skies & tailwinds, Bob Borger Europa XS Tri, Rotax 914, Airmaster C/S Prop.
