I am sure he has told you all that needs to be told about building the Europa but as a non engineer I would say that it is within anyone's ability to build as I did. I am based in Petersfield and my aircraft 'DH is based at Popham (one of 5 Europas there and the only trigear). Come over some time to see the plane and talk further about the build. I will be at Sywell possibly for the whole weekend depending on Europa's requirements. I would like to see a build in progress if possible to see where the pitfalls might be, workshop considerations, talk through what's involved etc. I will try and get to the LAA sywell rally at the end of august too before we take the plunge.. Any current builds in the south UK willing to open their doors to us for an afternoon? Steve. ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 01:22:37 AM PST US From: Raymond Wren Subject: Re: Europa-List: DOTH Shobdon Mon. 23rd. The LAA test schedule seems to imply that I might need to adjust the microswitch positions but the Woodcomp manual says this should only be done at the factory. Did anyone find it necessary to adjust them and if so did they do it themselves of get Kevin involved? I guess I am asking Carl and David. So far the take off seems much more rapid, but then it seemed to stop accelerating at just above 60kts and I have to go to climb and put the gear up. The top end doesnt seem that much faster but then I may not have been applying full power. Not sure whether to display pressure or HP on the controller. -------- Graeme Bird G-UMPY Mono Classic/XS FWFD 912ULS/Warp drive FP Newby: 35 hours g(at)gdbmk.co.uk Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=378909#378909 ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 07:02:47 AM PST US From: "David Joyce" Subject: Re: Europa-List: Weight of HPL 3 blade warp drive prop for ref Graeme, You want to adjust the fine limit to give you a max static of 5650 . Significantly less will lose you some power & more will put you at risk of over speeding if you slam the throttle open in a go around situation. The coarse stop will probably look after itself but you need to be able to get a positive rate of climb at MAUW and fully coarse. Adjusting the stops is not at all difficult. Woodcomp will give you instructions if you ask them, or if here are any problems I can probably find the instructions they gave me.
