Hi Goff, I'm glad you started a new thread on the Dutch Fly-In, it gives me a 2nd opportunity to ask if you or anybody else is willing and able to pick me up at Hoogeveen (ICAO: EHHO) and drop me off again upon return. EHHO is only a small detour when flying in from the south, and of course I will pick up the additional costs for carrying me along... (I had a landing mishap a few weeks back, eliminating my chances to fly there with my bird, so I am hoping some Europaphile is willing and able to provide me the opportunity to take a seat in another Europa :) ) Thanks, Marcel -------- Marcel (Europa Classic Tri-Gear PH-MZW) Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=382314#382314

Well another LAA Rally has come and gone and this one was certainly a great success with more vendors, more people and more fly-ins (especially on the Friday and Saturday when the weather was good). Numbers are not yet known but we had reported 38 Europas on the Friday (out of 400 aircraft on the day). Thank you to all those people that helped man the two stands over the 3 days especially Ian, Irene and Nigel on the main stand and Alan Twigg on the LAA stand. It makes a difference and is noticed by other makes, especially the Vans people. If anyone has photos of the show especially from a Europa angle can they please submit them to me for adding to an album. Thanks again and see you at the next event. Hi Marcel I would have happily given you a lift but unfortunately the Dutch rally is one of the few trips my wife love=92s to come too, I hope to see you there, with any luck you will get your lift, Regards ivor On 3 September 2012 09:53, zwakie <mz@cariama.nl> wrote: > > Hi Goff, > > I'm glad you started a new thread on the Dutch Fly-In, it gives me a 2nd > opportunity to ask if you or anybody else is willing and able to pick me up > at Hoogeveen (ICAO: EHHO) and drop me off again upon return. Vertically limited by Class-A airspace starting at 1500', this rather narrow 'corridor' can at times be VERY busy. Personally I try to avoid this piece of airspace, too high a concentration of aluminium and fiber in the air for my comfort ;) -------- Marcel (Europa Classic Tri-Gear PH-MZW) Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=382317#382317

From: "h&jeuropa" <butcher43@att.net>
Hi Jim, We too thought we needed an air compressor for compression test but found that the volume of air needed to do a leak down compression test is pretty small. We did our compression test this year using a small air tank that we filled at the local gas station to 100 psi. Had air left over! You'll find you need a compressor with a lot of capacity if you plan to run most air tools. They use a large volume of air. A small compressor will make you wait for it to catch up. We learned this while grinding off the carbon fibre of the glider wings for Mod 78. Thats the only time we needed air tools - carbon fibre is combustible. I dont know about the sprag clutch but if my previous 912S had been run the technique was dont touch the choke at all. 3-4 cycles of throttle and then go. On the rare occasion this didnt work then repeat. -------- Graeme Bird G-UMPY Mono Classic/XS FWFD 912ULS/Woodcomp 3000/W Newby: 35 hours g(at)gdbmk.co.uk Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=382338#382338
