I have yet to find a better handling, or more quiet, enjoyable flying aircraft built anywhere, that gets 35-40 mpg at 120 Knots... Stock, out of the box. And it got better with age. The new fast build takes the drudgery out of the Classic's endless glassing and with careful construction needs less filler. The high top/wide body mod is much more comfortable but all that is a bit of a weight penalty the Classic did not have... 350 hours on the Rotax in my modified Classic and it still purrs. Keep it simple and light with good access for maintenance, and it is a joy.
