Hi Sue and Bill, Howdy Bob. What a lovely country you live in NZ, i visited a few years ago and it brought back memory's of Old England , that a compliment. My favourite Aeroplane, nothing could catch it in WW2, and the later version had a pressurized cockpit, very tricky on one engine go around. My neighbour now 95 was a Mossy Pilot, so i know a little about them. We had one over here but crashed just after completion, over here they get the Who you Knows to fly them, and Not the What you Knows so they crash. Hope that's not the case in NZ. My Trim, Yes a little bit of differential on the Flap would do it, but i don,t know how to do it ?, as far as i know there is a Cross Bar into which the pins on each flap locate into, so both move together, so if say i physically restricted one flap slightly it would twist the cross bar slight, not good, relocating the actual flap bracket and pin is OK, but i am not up to that expertise. So i was considering a fixed trim tab on the Flaps outer trailing edge but would just the tab generate enough lift,?? ( i can manage to make and glue or should i say bond a tab on) I find i need this left rudder with one or two up The rubber Bungee , is that,s just from the control stick to the centre tunnel, to hold the stick slight over is that right. A fixed aileron tab would do this, but i suppose a Bungee may be adjustable Simple but maybe practical. Alan Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=384300#384300

As you may already know, the presence of a device on a microlight is no guarantee that there has been a proper engineering study beforehand. I have already seen such a setup. I'd say it is just what it looks like : two 3-blade props quickly bolted together...Do you really believe the 'designers' did any calculations, activity factor or disc load computations ? <<..if say i physically restricted one flap slightly it would twist the cross bar slight, not good,>> That situation is already built in to the design, because the actuating horn welded to the cross bar is located off centre. Which (due to the elasticity of the cross bar) results in the cross bar twisting and the port side retracting slightly ahead of the s'bd side. So a thicker stop on the port side will help to counter this when the flaps are in the retracted position. Hi Goff. It looks like a tow bar , if it was stronger it could do both but you would need a new nose wheel axel. However the yellow bars slide between and into each rudder pedal so locking them together. The other end of the long bar pushes up against the seat,( it does not have butt against the seat , you could shorten it if you wanted) then the valkro strap is place around the stick so locking the stabalator either in neutral or fully down, and keeping the ailerons neutral. Very useful, and very simple and cheap to make, so i posted it on the forum. Will post a photo next time i get up the field. From: "Alan Carter" <alancarteresq@onetel.net>
Hello John, Had a few small bounces at first, the aeroplane want to keep on flying, I have only done about 30 hours on the Europa but finally have nailed how to land it. This is how i do it. Initially 65 kts then slow down to 60kts nice and stable aiming to keep a little power on all the way down to round out, as you flare slowly close the throttle and hold off, when you think the landings over its NOT, keep the stick coming back and continue trying to fly the aeroplane and the wheels will gently touch the runway, as the wheels touch the ground gently release some of the pressure on the stick and apply the brakes, If you bounce ( in a very rare case) just a little power to cushion it down. If you ever you bounce 15 to 20 ft into the air, apply full power smoothly and go around for another attempt. I find the Europa,s Take Off Distance much shorter than the Landing Distance, so beware if you ever do a force landing, I can land a C150 on a postage stamp but this slippery beast takes more than you think so keep the speeds really nailed . Hope that's of help. Alan. Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=384326#384326

Hello Gilles. Do you really believe the 'designers' did any calculations, activity factor or disc load computations ? Probably not, but Take a look at the Europe,s stabilator control components did an engineer really design that load of holes pins nuts and washers , I think we better stay with prop for now as i would like to start this as a new topic later as it may bring a number of posts.. Subject: Mod 73
    From: "egp8111" <egp8111@aol.com>
I'm returning my early monowheel classic to flying status after a number of years being inactive. Getting caught up on the mods. I'm in the process of doing mod 73 the tailplane retention mod. Just a question for my clarification. Are both the top and bottom pip pin holes on the torque tube elongated or just the top ? I assume both top and bottom holes receive the same treatment but the directions on the factory website leave me with just a bit of doubt. I tried contacting Europa directly and got a nice email from someone saying she didn't know but was passing my question on to the technical staff but thats the last I have heard from them. Can someone clear this up for me please. Thanks, Skip Pate, Europa sr. # A009 monwheel classic 178 hr. I remember talking to Bud about this a few months ago and couldn't remember if I saw it somewhere else or not. However I did a quick search and found this post on www.europaowners.com This should help get you in the right direction. I'm pretty sure you are correct, both top and bottom holes need to be elongated, otherwise it would not achieve the purpose which is to prevent torque loads from the torque tube being transmitted through the TP6 sleeve with the possible result of disbonding. That is what I did.
