Changed them to new style but didn't use the very expensive Mod66 and used thin pieces of aluminum almost like Roger did. Last weekend I put in the ball fittings for the gas struts. I put on the struts, and with a felt pen in hand to cross off yet another historic chapter I gently closed the door. Crack!!- the lug had not just broken off but practically disintegrated. See http://www.europaowners.org/main.php?g2_itemId=105733 Shocked but assuming this was a one off I moved to the other door. Mindfully I treated this very carefully, but even with light hand pressure the lug also came off forthwith. I understand from another builder that there should be an aluminium plate inside the lug, but there certainly are none in mine, at least not in the position of the hole. Anybody had this same problem? If so is there a repair method? -------- Jeroen ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 06:48:27 AM PST US Subject: Europa-List: Tri-gear conversion part From: "phillik747" Looking at the manual it calls for a space OR9 and was wondering if anyone knew the dimensions of this spacer. Another thought is a list of US part that shipped to Europa and are renamed would be helpful as well; for instance the main gear axle castle nuts are from Matco. -------- Kyle Europa Tri-gear (under construction) Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=390655#390655 ________________________________ Message 7 _____________________________________ Time: 01:08:42 PM PST US From: "G-IANI" Subject: RE: Europa-List: Tri-gear conversion part Bob No need to look for your inventory list as I have them for the Tri-gear. I also have a parts index done by Rowland Carson (for a mono) which could also be helpful. The problem is finding the time to make the go through and cross check everything. Mine is nothing like yours. As I said a little while back, I'm letting sleeping dogs lie at the moment. I'm certainly getting plenty of power on take-off so I don't think it is worth stressing over. When I found the blocked up filter in the line to the sensor, I jumped to the conclusion that the "problem" was solved and now I can't be sure if I checked the actual hose well enough. The new filter I fitted was a bit agricultural so when I get to fitting a better one that I have now purchased, I will do a more thorough check of the line itself. Thanks again for your most appreciated follow up. Hope your recent flying was done in more pleasurable conditions than we are experiencing over here at the moment. Stinking hot here, rough as bags and dreadful smoke haze with minimum visibility takes away all the pleasure. The fuel computer won't detect a leak but in normal use its brilliant. Fuel left in the tank, range left, time left. An alarm when it's time to switch to the reserve.
