Hi Svein,
I am looking fwd seeing your measured return flow in flight. Years ago, I made
some measurements of return flow with the engine stopped using the electric pump
only and testing several restrictor diameters. It will be interesting to compare
our respective figures.
Regarding a possible plugged restrictor, I experienced just that years ago. When
I stopped the engine, the fuel pressure stayed where it was and it took a few
minutes before dropping very very slowly. That is because the fuel trapped
in the lines between the mechanical fuel pump and the carbs has (almost) no way
to escape due to the blocked restrictor.
So now while shutting down the engine, I monitor the fuel pressure to make sure
it drops to zero instantly.

Hello All,
My doors bulge in the middle leaving about a 1/4 gap. Does anyone have any suggestions
about how to cure this issue. I've heard mention of a mid door latch.
Does anyone have a picture or a discription of one ?
Thanks,
E.G

Hi E.G.
"I've heard mention of a mid door latch. Does anyone have a

I followed Nev's advice and installed a passive mid door pin. Once I
finally figured out what he was talking about, I also installed a passive
pin to hold the top aft part of the door in place. The geometry really
works, close the door, the top aft gets sucked down!
I think they are detailed on page 2 and 3:

On a lovely day for flight testing at Sandtoft G-MLXP as completed it
maiden flight with Brian Fogg at the helm. In a ll Brian did two flights
with a shake down between. Only slight problem with Radio but soon sorted.
Nevelle those crawls really do work no sign of any heating problems.
Looking forward to getting the full test program completed. The gear works
very well and Brian greased the first landing. Thanks To Bob Hallam and Roy
Clarke for doing all the inspection work for me. I'm So So pleased to see
XP flying. Miles
Did a great job rigging, no trims needed at this stage Brian said she
trimmed up fine ailerons level and very little rudder required.

Mike, Great to hear that another Europa has taken flight. It sounds as
if you have had very good technical support and that she is a good'un.
For the Club records can you confirm the date of first flight and the
empty weight please.
Regards and well done.

If you look under November 2001 on my blog at
http://www.europa.net.nz/363/index.html you will see the hard way of doing
this :).
It works great but it as a pain to build.

Subject: | Re: mid-door latch |
Hi All.
My passengers door also protrudes at the top rear corner, by at least a 1/4", This
door has the gas strut bracket mounted on the top rear corner, and i think
deformation is due to the gas strut,
The Pilots door has the gas strut positioned in the middle of the door, this door
has No protrusion at the corner and also stays up when open.
So some time i will have to move the gas strut to the middle as per other door,
can do this OK.
But how to bend the door back into shape will be a problem,
Have thought about using,( with the door open) a shaped piece of wood , slightly
over curved at the top corner and trying to clamp it to the underside of the
door,
So when hangerd between flying, clamp it up, and hope over time it will ease back
to shape, maybe a Little heat will help.
Any other options?
Regards
Alan
