Hi Europajim
Sorry you are wrong.
>From what i can see of the body work, which is hard to judge from a photo, it
looks neat.
And with a brand new engine which must have cost over 22000 i think its reasonable
priced,
As for G-JHYS I think 25000 was about right, with a spend of 10000 in tidying
it up you would have a compatible compassion.
G-OBJT don,t know anything about, photo looks good,
I paid 35000 for mine, maybe 2000 over the top, but at the time only few on the
market, and that cost me 500 in diesel driving up and down the country looking,
and at 66 i have,t the time to wait looking i need to be flying.
Regards.

I paid 38.000 for mine from 2001 and 288 hours on the airframe. It is an XS (wings
and fuselage) and has a Rotax 914 fitted. I think that this was a reasonable
price and because my wish list was XS (and btw even that version is not very
spacious for me with 1,82 Metres), Trigear and Rotax (at least the 912 S) the
important remaining bit was to find a thoroughly built exemplar, which I luckily
managed to. It was an honest offer from an honest man (also with hindsight)
and so I didn't negotiate. I do not regret that I paid the price and I agree
with Alan, that you cannot judge that much from photos or the description of
the previous owner.
Just my 2 cents.

Hi Roland.
It is hard from a photo, but the fit of the inspection panels looks neat.
i have seen some untidy ones, and that's gives a little clue as to the build, it
has a air vent on the fin, what,s this for,?
A fixed trim tab on the aileron, so needs a little tweaking.
Would like to see the Instrument Panel, Please post it on the forum,??

To Build a 914 Trigear, include a very good panel with a customised
interior will cost =A360,000 for the bits! I know of two being built at th
e moment
that will cost around =A3100,000 finished.
I would remind you Guys about a Europa that was recently put on sale and
the owner was smothered in dreamers and others looking for free flights who
thought they could buy the aircraft for =A320,000. The syndicates are the
best, 5 lads all looking for a flight for free!!
I agree that some of the old Classics were cheap to build, were fairly
basic with a 912 engine and gave amazing performance and so much pleasure t
o
their owners, but a Europa these days costs three times as much to build.

Hi Trevor.
Its a labour of love, you spend 60000 on bits 20000 in time and it cost you 80000,
stick it up for sale the next day and you would be lucky to get 50000. its
unfortunate but that, the way it is, I think builder do it because its there
hobby and enjoy making things, and don't really bother about how much it has
cost them, Some have built and sold within a year, and started a new one.
As for costs ,I was walking down the road on Google Earth the other day.
garage forecourt sign petrol 1.01 per litre ,I looked at the date on the bottom
of the screen, 2009. Today 1.50 litre. and we a,nt got any money.

Gentlemen,
The NACA opening on the tail is connected to a 2.5 inch tube that pushes
air into two vents behind the pilot & passenger's heads. It's very
effective in flight and somewhat on the ground. There's two swivel
valves you can tun on or off like that in airliners. I'm sending two
pictures here. We'll see if they go thru.

Hi Jeff,
I mentioned to Alan earlier today about some Europa owners
expecting a little too much for their aircraft, yours is without doubt an
exception, she's truly a nice one. I hope you find a buyer soon. I'm
currently searching for a good Europa and just missed the best one that
I've seen (G-OBJT) because the surveyor couldn't get to examine her due to
weather, sods law.
There is a LAA document No TL 1.06 issue 3 01/01/08 that advises potential
buyers of homebuilt aircraft particularly from the USA, this should be
studied.
Jeff, if you could email me direct I'd be grateful :

Best wishes

Jeff,
I'm very sorry to hear that you have to sell Gold Rush. I know how much it means
to you. I wish you the best with your health issues and pray you find your
solution.
Gents,
I've seen Gold Rush. It is a jewel. Beautifully finished to the last detail.
Very well equipped panel. It is an absolute steal at Jeff's asking price. Some
very lucky person will have themselves a great aircraft for 50% of what it
would cost to build from kit and pieces. Not to mention the saving in build
time. If I were in the market for a fine touring aircraft, I'd be on this like
a duck on a june bug. What a deal!

Thanks for the encouraging words Bob. My issues are health but those I can and
will overcome!! However as we all know the FAA makes it hard so my future will
be one day ELSA. But there's other factors in this decision as well. Like a 96
year old Mother that I need to move here from up north. I could go on as there's
several other situations that life has thrown our way. For now there is just
no time to fly and hanger rent isn't cheep.
My bird is a jewel and I hope she lands in the hands of one that will appreciate
her more than someone wanting to steal her.
Again my thanks to all of the Europa community for their kid words!!

Danny,
Just 5 to 10 years, why so few?
My Europa first flew in 1997, 16 years ago and 2000 very enjoyable
hours,
and still loving every minute of it. I am 67 this year and hoping I can
get
another 2000 hours in before I have to call it a day.
