LAA RALLY INVITATION
The Club will have our marquee at the LAA Rally the weekend of Friday 30th
August to Sunday 1st September 2013 at Sywell, Northamptonshire.
We hope to have some merchandise for sale, a Europa on view plus other items
to encourage you to visit us. Some refreshments will also be available and
you will be able to rejoin/join or generally update us with membership
information. We hope it is a sunny weekend and the Committee looks forward
to meeting with you.
If you are intending to arrive by air let me know so that we can try to
arrange parking together.

the hat" UK situation...but we all have much further to go...
Let's not let 2013 slip away w/o a US-Europa gathering...so here's an
idea...who's up for it?
McMinnville, OR, 50 miles SW of Portland, features a world class
aviation museum including Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose, an SR-71, B-17,
and many more aircraft of significance.

Alpha taxiway at the SW end of runway 22. You can park your airplane in
the camp area. No "conveniences" except for running water. But you are
within walking distance of the airport office that has restrooms and

Museum, home of the Spruce Goose. It's a very impressive museum. No
camping fee. Very friendly and helpful folks at the airport office.

We'd love to but we are tied up that weekend.
We've been to the McMinnville area in the past, visited the Evergreen
Museum, stayed at a wonderful B&B/Winery/Vinyard. Had a great time and
would like to get back some day. But not this year:^(

It seems that we have more of an issue with the timing than the interest. I
already have plans that I can't alter to be at McMinnville and environs
between August 20 and 23, and I just saw Erich Trombley (914 mono) yesterday
at Livermore on his way back to Las Vegas from McMinnville! With a bit
longer notice, maybe we can attract a larger crowd.

Not widely publicized, McMinnville has a campground just off of the Alpha
taxiway at the SW end of runway 22. You can park your airplane in the camp
area. No "conveniences" except for running water. But you are within walking
distance of the airport office that has restrooms and coffee. Of course,
free shuttle service to the Evergreen Aviation Museum, home of the Spruce
Goose. It's a very impressive museum. No camping fee. Very friendly and
helpful folks at the airport office.
