It would be great to get lots of Europa folks together again. There are some incredible places to fly out west. Bob Lindsay and I attended a Flight Design CT fly in a couple years a go. Based in Page Arizona, we flew to a different location daily for a meal. Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, fantastic scenery. It would be great to get the East coast folks out west. But I still wanna go to McMinnville. Kevin On Aug 5, 2013, at 10:42 PM, "David DeFord" wrote: > Sorry, Kevin. Some of the best flying weather in the country I hear. I still have my Europa up for sale but I'm flying it weekly and working on my one health issue. It's hard to part with a bird that fly's so nice quick & cheap!! This year would be out for me but if the south west could be a spot for next year and I'm able I would be all over that!! Flights to those destinations daily would be what I call a real flyin!! Just my 2 cents worth. Jeff R. If you use the "Tools" button at the top, there is a "Ruler" tool which permits you to measure plan view lengths to miles or inches if you choose. Both the elevation and plan lengths are very accurate and can be used to measure building sizes for example. It is very easy to do surveying from the comfort of your computer. Twice in the last couple of months since fitting the new undercarriage, we have experienced trying to take off on grass with half fuel, little/no headwind and a pilot plus one "fat bastard" passenger. It wasn't fun! So the real comparison will be made after fitting the new engine and propeller blades and trying to take off again in similar circumstances. I'll try to remember to let you know after completing the conversion, which won't be for several months. ________________________________ Message 6 _____________________________________ Time: 11:32:44 AM PST US Subject: Europa-List: Vichy From: Michael Davies I'd Just like to let you all know, Peter Hopkinson of the LAA has just emailed me to let me that G-MLXP Flyer Europa took 1st prize for kit built at the Vichy RSA rally in France in July. ________________________________ Message 7 _____________________________________ Time: 12:34:43 PM PST US Subject: Re: Europa-List: Vichy From: Michael Davies Sorry it was Roger Hopkinson at LAA not the Peter I know. I don't have the luxury of having any Europa builders in the area, so I keep my refregerator stocked with some micro-brews just in case.. Greg. Well, lets try for a future date and location.
