BTW: You won't need an aircraft hammer for 120 Pounds to do the job ;-) Good luck! From: "Alan Carter" Hi All Three Bladed Propeller, Use of Prop Tape. (12" length per blade) Is it likely to unbalance the prop. Has anyone lost one strip from the blade. Any Comments on using Prop Tape Alan Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=406257#406257 ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 02:16:26 PM PST US From: Trevpond@aol.com Subject: Re: Europa-List: Re: Trouble on the line Roland, Why have you made this attack on Nevilles anticipated income?!! Alan, I have seen a demonstration of prop balancing at Woodcomp where the addition of half a small postage stamp on one blade was clearly shown to unbalance it, so that I guess you would need to be extremely careful in your application or plan to have your prop rebalanced afterwards. From: "Alan Carter" Hi All. I have the pro tape, maybe i will wait a while before doing anything. My prop i guess is already out of balance, People tell me the spinner is going up and down, but i really don,t notice anything in the cockpit. Its been like it for years as the previous owner never did anything to the aircraft and just clocked up 300 hours of cheap flying,Plus the 5 hours after i had paid for it. The prop is a Airplarse PV50, seems to have a groups of washers [5] in three places located around the hub, all you could do is file bits of the washers, see no other way,?? have no spares washers. How long would it take with a (prop balancer) to balance a prop.?? The nearest place to Headcorn that could do the job.? Regards.
