Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. I have an out of date (but still very good) Lowrance 2000c GPS. The manufacturers have long since stopped supporting this device so I can get no help from them. I am trying to link this unit into a 'Navaid AP-1 autopilot. Does anyone know how to set up the output port on my Lowrance GPS so that it will talk to the autopilot? Pete PS Simple question but is there a simple answer?? _____

Subject: Classic Europa; 912S exhaust cracks?
    From: "jonathanmilbank" <jdmilbank@yahoo.co.uk>
After 16 years with the 912UL engine in a Classic monowheel, I changed the undercarriage to tricycle. But the rolling resistance is much greater, particularly on grass, so I've bought a 912S to help me get into the air more easily. My intention is to fit the replacement engine into the existing arrangements and to use the same old-style stainless steel exhaust system, which dangles at an angle rearwards beneath the engine. This exhaust has served me well enough over 16 years, apart from a couple of fractures of the flange bolted to the left rear cylinder. My question to anyone with experience similar to mine, or anyone who's heard from others, is "Am I likely to have a severe increase in exhaust cracking problems?" Richard, I am very sorry to say that we are oversubscribed and I have had to close the list.(at 7 planes) The problem is that the difficulty of finding hotels increases significantly with numbers and we find ourselves more or less confined to stopping only in major cities, which cuts out some of the magic of French touring. If anyone should drop out in the next few weeks I will come back to you, or should others also materialise I will think about organising a second tour, otherwise sorry to disappoint you. Hi! Richard, I think you will reliably find that it is on 23rd August . at Grenchen. .....It is the EAS 50th anniversary and Werner Maag their President checked out with me recently. I have made a provisional booking at the Airport Hotel although things with me a bit fluid just at present. I think Ivor is going but he will be in his camper van for the Texel Event on 6th/7th September . He also thought Alisdair was intending to go too. According to Ivor you can down load a Customs and \Immigration form to make a declaration in advance which is quite important. I'll message Werner Maag and get an English Web Page link and revert soonest. Thanks Alan for that idea. Good idea but the manual refers you to Lowrance support for setups for different devices. Unfortunately Lowrance are just not interested and suggest you buy a Garmin??!! Such a shame because the 2000c is a great instrument. I guess they could not compete with the sheer mass of the Garmin organisation for aviation products. Hi Craig, Thanks for that. I have got the original manual but all it says about the settings is that you need to set the send and receive ports according to Lowrance support. Lowrance support does not support the 2000c any more and have not do so for about three years hence they are useless as far as assistance is concerned. I guess I need help from someone who set their system up a few years back.
