The current owner wants to sell it already for some time. He made a video some time back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHPIPTRMVi0 This plane is located in Yutsa, a small city close to Geaorgia. So pretty far from Moscow! There is another Europa in the region. N205CN is based in Kiev, Ukraine for the last 5 years. Here is a picture with 2 other Europa who flew to Ukraine last summer. We landed on a field of the Dutch farmer (also a pilot) in the middle of the country to get some fuel and some food :-) Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=413005#413005 Attachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/dsc06673_512.jpg ________________________________ Message 7 _____________________________________ Time: 03:44:30 PM PST US Subject: Europa-List: Re: Europas in Russia From: "Carl & Dot Pattinson" Hi, There's a clip on you tube of a Russian Europa (about a year old). They are cooking as I type. I've learned a few things and so far, it has been going well. I have to say that if the spar ends up not fitting into the airplane, I have no idea what to do to make it fit. I could not have been more careful. I'm using foam panels and a thermostatically controlled heater to keep it at about 25C for the cure. That worked well. The resin news to be 18C minimum to work. I made a template for the location of the aileron bell crank hole and decided to find the hole after each layup of 2 layers. I drilled it out each time. Thought about probing with a needle and marking it, but it was easy to find through 2 layers. Haven't measured the thickness yet. Should be able to attempt fitting it into the airplane about Monday. This is a huge job, but it seems like each step is fairly straight forward. If you are doing it, gather all the tips from all sources and then plunge in with common sense. Does anyone know a good source in the US for the washer? I've googled the part number and it hits on a UK website only and Europa. Can't seem to figure how to order it from the UK site. IT called for Hardened steel and I did order some from Fastenal, but none of their washers list hardened steel - just "steel". Not sure if that is a washer that will do the job. There is hope. My wife, who is Russian, has tracked down two local aviators who speak English, and I'll be meeting up with them sometime soon in Moscow to go out to a local flying club where they have Yaks, Sukhois and a couple of 172s.
