Thanks Ian, no these are the arms behind the spars and in front of the tank,
that hold the aileron rods attaching to the self connecting feature. With
the hex bolts in they scrape on the right hand spar.
Let us know when flying is to take place, we can visit in G-VKIT.
Happy new year

UK List,
I'm thinking of now fitting the Europa Speed Kit to G-PW and just wanted
to see if anyone in the UK had any of the parts available, and wanting to to
sell them? even if it is just one Item will help.
Thank you in advance

Now that I've removed the monowheel and fitted "trainer wheels" dangling in the
breeze, there's no doubt that I've lost about 8 knots in the cruise, not to mention
the loss of about 45 lbs load capacity. However the peace of mind in runway
crosswind situations more than compensates.
The speed kit in its entirety doesn't appeal, because I don't fancy having to clean
grass and mud repeatedly from inside the spats, nor struggling to check brake
pads and inflate tyres.
But I see that some folk fit "pants" on the legs and fairings over the hinges.
My question is "What are the different figures between the two arrangements, with
or without wheel spats, in terms of weight and speed gain?"
It seems to me that the speed kit without wheel spats would offer relatively little
speed gain and therefore is of questionable value.

Subject: | Airmaster propeller modification |
After happily and successfully fitting a tri-gear undercarriage (thanks to the
excellence of Neville Eyre) to my Classic, it quickly became obvious that I would
need more horsepower to operate off grass and soft runways. So I've acquired
and fitted a 100hp 912S, which necessitated modifying my Airmaster AP308 propeller
and fitting wider blades.
I can't praise Airmaster NZ highly enough for supplying the wider blades with ferrules
fitted and for modifying the hub mechanism to allow the blades to operate
in a coarser pitch range. I also had to remove the old AC100 controller and
fit the AC200. I really appreciate their high quality of workmanship and service.
Now to find a good home for the trusty 80hp engine and tapered blades with Airmaster
ferrules.

Hi! The next time I clean out spats will be the first .....other than doing
tyre changes.
The only problem I have is that without spats the underside of the wings
are always covered in shit.
With regards to weight factors I can't give you factors but I've never
failed to lift off !
Happy New Year.
