Subject: Radio interference on pitch trim indicator
    From: "Phil B" <daveporthcawl@aol.com>
When transmitting, the pitch trim indicator display is affected and I get a crackle in the headphones. To try and resolve the problem I have run a temporary aerial forward through the firewall and around the outside the fuselage about 1m offset, onto the dipole aerial from the rear of the rudder so that it is clear of the pitch trim at the rear of the fuselage and connected the radio to its own power source all to no avail. Ive read previous posts on this forum re the pitch trim interference and assume it will not cause any problems. How can I reduce the crackle while transmitting as it is fairly loud and cannot be reduced by altering the squelch setting? Ive cleaned all the earth connections and can only assume the crackle is being somehow induced via the pitch trim wiring which I have separated as far as possible from the antenna and the wiring to the radio. All suggestions appreciated. Thanks, -------- Phil B Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=422721#422721

Hi! Phil, I'm no electronics or radio guru but there is no doubt some relationship to the radio transmit circuit since the LED trim display certainly flickers when transmitting even though there is no duplicated connections with the two circuits but thankfully I don't get noise. Me too - trim gauge flickers with transmit but no associated noise. Suspect degree of interference varies with frequency selected but I'm not able to check right now.
