      Hello Rick,
My previous G-Reg Tri-Gear had the same issue and it was solved by taping a 150mm
length of one of those plastic triangular section loose-leaf booklet spines
to the underside of an aileron. Vary the length to change the effect. Only
works perfectly at one speed of course but trim it for cruise and it should be
fine. Perhaps not the best permanent solution but certainly good for finding
out. Spanwise it was positioned close to, but not at, the innermost edge nearest
to the rose joint/pin - to reduce any torsional forces on the aileron. Clive

      Trim Tabs

My aircraft was crying out for aileron trim. Obviously a passenger makes a big
difference and with my Europa as the speed increases there is a slight but increasing
role to the right, just enough to be annoying. I need to adjust the trim
once the aircraft has settled into the cruise. So I added aileron trim. I added
an "L" bracket with a 2 inch arm to the fork at the bottom of the stick to
the right. I then put the smallest sailors jam cleat on the face of the seat
under my left leg. I thin bungee cord from the tip of the "L" bracket behind
the stick and into the vertically mounted jam cleat. This has proved a great success.
Once settled in the cruise I just pull the bungee up with my left hand
about 1/4 inch and push the bungee forward to lock it off. The adjustment is
very precise, as good as a wheel and I can compensate for any weight of passenger
      or badly distributed load.

Has anyone got, or know where I can obtain some blue styrofoam, as used in the
construction of the tailplanes etc. I need a couple of pieces, approx 50cm x 10cm
x 10cm. I need these to make a former for a repair piece for a part for a
boat and have used up or thrown away all the bits that I had left over from my
      Europa.

Richard, I have certainly got that amount, although cannot guaruntee in
quite those measurements until I have time to get it out & measure. You
will be welcome to it even if in a cause which distracts you from your
      flying!

      Hi David.

Thanks for the offer. I managed to snap my carbon fibre spinnaker pole on my last
trip and am trying to make an internal sleeve to repair it. Nigel Graham has
given me some good advice but I need to make a male former to mould a repair
piece on and I think blue foam will be the best option as I can dissolve it from
inside the sleeve after I have made it.

If the weather ever becomes flyable again soon, I can pop down to Gloucester or
wherever is convenient for you to pick it up. Good excuse for a flight and a
      50 bacon buttie.

All the best for Christmas & New Year.

      Richard.
