Hi George,
If you remove the wings on a Mono and do nothing else, it falls over. If
you do the same thing on a Trigear or conventional, nothing happens!
I think this makes a significant difference to the ease of the process.

Hi Rob,
You are right: I did not specify monowheel, nosewheel or conventional
tailwheel. That is because I am flexible, as it may be that with one
configuration it is easier to remove and attach the wings. However, I doubt
whether this is the case. The replies I received have indeed given me the
impression that the type of undercarriage does not make much difference in
this respect.
The configuration I am most inclined to get is monowheel, as it is the most
efficient in flight as it is retractable. Thus it makes bes use of the space
between the two seats.
Thanks to all of you who replied.

It was less than a year for me. Although I thought about getting a low hours engine;
they seemed to be asking nearly as much. Nearly fell foul of a scam from
someone in Germany and in the end decided the engine was one item I wanted to
be confident in. I think the registration mentioned fitting and first run. They
are pretty established and reliable so you shouldn't need the warranty unless
you are doing silly hours.

It's so long ago since I bought my first brand new engine through Europa, who in
their turn had bought a job lot from Skydrive (I think), but I seem to recall
that the deal went something like this. We could purchase our engines and keep
them at home or indeed fit them to our airframes up to a year before first
flight. Then from the date of first flight the warranty lasted for one year. This
meant that the warranty could have expired up to two years after date of purchase.
Hopefully and if you decide to buy brand new, you might be able to negotiate something
similar.

Hi Jim,
This is what I found about Andreas Doblhof's system:
http://www.europaowners.org/main.php?g2_itemId=46082
http://sdunsmuir.net/EuropaOwners/public_html/Galley3/Builders-Album/Dolly/Andreas-Doblhof-s-rigging-system/Andreas_Doblhof_home
The Europa sports the Austrian flag on its fin and the vehicle has
similarly an Austrian number plate.
