      Hi All,

Just a note about the Fly-In and Europa Club AGM at Laddingford this Saturday 11th
      July.

There is no need to PPR as reading this is sufficient.

The radio in use will be Safetycom 135.475 so all calls to be preceded and ended
      with Laddingford Traffic.

The weather looks set to be fair with a south easterly wind so we will be using
runway 29 which is 750 meters long. Circuits will be right hand (to the north)
      at 1000ft.

(In the unlikely event that the weather does suddenly take a drastic turn for the
worse we will do it all on Sunday 12th).

At the end of your landing roll you should turn right on to runway 03 then turn
right on to the taxiway towards the hangars where you will be marshalled for
      parking.

There is no landing fee to pay, but there will be a charge of 5 per person for
      food at the food tables.

      Hi David,

I'm also thinking about coming on Saturday, but will have to leave around 15:00
LOC to arrive back in Germany in time.

Do you have fuel (50 litres) available, otherwise I'll refuel at Rochester with
      UL 91 in advance.

      RWY 29 for south-easterly wind?

BTW: I have an oil cooler (13 row) left over which I don't need and I can bring
      it, if anyone is interested.

      Gentlemen,
I just received the sad news that Bruno Reith had a stroke and has passed away.
He was the Europa agent in Germany and built an Europa with a "Smart Turbo" engine.
An interesting experiment but I am not sure if he got it into the air.

      Roland,

      Well spotted.

Sorry but slight brain fade, and I read my message a good 5 or 6 times before I
posted it, just to make sure it was right.

The forecast wind for this weekend is South Westerly so it will be runway 29 in
      use.

There is no fuel for sale at Laddingford but some private arrangements may be possible.

That's really sad news, indeed :(
I met Bruno a couple of times and he was always very helpful.
I'm quite sure, that he wasn't able to take his Smart-Mono to the air, what makes
      it even more sad.

      Dave,
If the wind is forecast southeasterly would not 11 be preferable? I do like landing
into wind, especially after that valuable tuition you gave me ten years
      ago!
      Best regards Jim

Maybe an odd question - isn't it best to choose RWY appropriate to the then prevailing
      wind direction on arrival?

Or has the RWY to be designated in advance?

I need to borrow a signpost or a banner or a flag with the Europa Club name and/or
logo. This is for use at the RSA EuroFly-In Vichy, France on 17-18 July.
Is there such a thing I could get at Laddingford and carry back home on board my
      plane?

very sorry to hear of Brunos passinghis Smart Turbo Europa took him down a unique
path. As I recall, the installation was engineered by Otto Funk and a series
of photos were posted, I believe, on this list. It appeared to be a carefully
built aircraft w/ much attention to detail. I would be most curious to know
what prevented flight testing. I certainly hope it finds a new home with an adventurous
      owner.

For anyone coming to the AGM on Saturday at Laddingford, an offer of
      cakes/puddings would be appreciated.
A splendid BBQ is already arranged but a few sweet items would finish the
      meal.
