Subject: | Re: Propeller/engine vibration |
Here is an update on my vibration problem. I checked balance of the carburettors
they were perfect, checked all engine mounts, carburettor mounts electrical
connections on ignition circuit including ht leads and air box and everything
looks fine. I cleaned the propeller (again) very thoroughly and went for a flight.
The vibration has disappeared! Just the normal area where it is not so
smooth at 4800 rpm. The vibration through the rudder pedals has also disappeared.
I must admit I am confused as I have not identified a cause. Regards John

Does anyone have a copy of the combi wiring diagram for this product as I
cannot find a copy online. It should have at least 5 wires going to the
heads.
Thanks

The easiest first step is to make sure your spark plug cables are firmly
attached to the plugs.

Hi! David/all.
I would just like to thank you and all the Gloucester Strut for the event
and BBQ organised yesterday at Gloucester Airport (EGBJ ).
The air traffic control and the Museum staff were well worthy of favourable
comment too.
My Brother John and I enjoyed the New Jet Age Museum also, particularly the
"stand" on the Gloucester Meteor!
Best regards

Ira,
Thanks...sound advice. Actually one of them is loose, possibly broken.
Didnt have time to examine thoroughly yesterday (didnt have my tools and
exhaust burn discouraged me from further fiddling) and my guru said..."mmm
sounds like a plug or plug lead".
After that i will follow karls advice.
Thanks again
Will

I second that.
The whole event organisation was faultless and those doing the work are to
be congratulated. The food quality and quantity deserves special mention (
my wife noticed a significant loss of appetite at my evening meal!)
Good to see the old Meat Boxes again and the Vulcan seemed a lot more
cramped than I remember from my brief flight in her back in '62 or
thereabouts.
Coincidently we were warned of and saw the flying model with the red arrows
go below us on the return flight to Popham. (not quick enough with the
camera)
Thanks again chaps.
