Subject: Fund Raiser - Just Two Days Left! - Still Well Behind...
Dear Listers, There are just two more full days left in this year's List Fund Raiser. Over the last couple of weeks I have received some really nice comments from members on what the Lists have meant to them and I really appreciate the feedback! At this point, unfortunately, we are still well behind last year in total Contributions to support the continued operation of these services. I really want to keep providing these Lists and Forums to the home built community, but it takes resources. Since there's no advertising budget or deep pockets to keep the operation a float, it's *solely your generosity* during the yearly Fund Raiser that keeps things going. Please make a Contribution today so that I can keep the bills paid and the services and systems turned on. If you've been putting off showing your support for the Lists, now is the time to do it! To make a contribution with a Credit Card or though PayPal at that Matronics Contribution web site: http://www.matronics.com/contribution Or, drop a check in the mail: Matronics / Matt Dralle 581 Jeannie Way Livermore, CA 94550 USA Thank you in advance for your support! It is very much appreciated... Matt Dralle Matronics Email List Administrator

Subject: Fitting MOD 52 after MOD 74
    From: "italianjon" <jon.catilli@gmail.com>
Morning All, I am looking to retrofit MOD 52 to get the MTOW increase. My Europa, when purchased, has MOD72 with the articulating rear sockets installed. I want to check my understanding, because I am in touch with Europa about exactly what I need to purchse. (The aircraft records show that the whole of MOD52 was purchased, but this was not passed on to me as part of the sale so therefore it is difficult for Karen to work out what I need). If I understand correctly:- MOD52 is divided into three main parts:- 1) Main Wing Spar socket and Pin size increase from 3/8" to 1/2" 2) The Tie Bar (with W26A/B/C) 3) Spar Strap MOD 74 is divided into two main parts: - 1) Wing rear pin reinforcement 2) The Tie Bar (without W26A/B/C) This, I think, then means that because my aircraft was fitted with Mod74 with W26A/B/C; then I only need to ficus on the Main Wing Spar Socket and Pin size increase and the Spar Strap. Does that sound right? Thanks Jon Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=450421#450421

Subject: Mod 76 pitch hold control rod
    From: "graeme bird" <graeme@gdbmk.co.uk>
I have decided to follow mod 76 Attitude Hold Autopilot after looking at the pain, delay and cost of submitting LAA form Mod 2 and Mod 3 and so I am collecting and ordering bits. The long aluminium push rod didn't come with the standard kit from Tru Track with the Gemini AP and doesn't seem to be a Europa supplied part and so I need to source a tube 22" long OD 10.45 (0.41) or more and ID for UNC 10-32 4mm (0.156), tried Aircraft Spruce, LAS, Farnell, RS and local engineering companies, any ideas? I have a 1/2" pipe with standard 1/4" ends on - I guess I could buy new dash 3 bearings but they may be a bit bulky. -------- Graeme Bird G-UMPY Mono Classic/XS FFW 912S/Woodcomp 3000/3W Newby: 200 hours 4 years on the Mono g(at)gdbmk.co.uk Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=450464#450464

Graeme - why not buy a piece of solid aluminium bar and drill & tap the ends 10-32 UNC? There's plenty of online metal suppliers if you cant find anyone local. I have used: http://www.metalandplastic.co.uk http://www.mallardmetals.co.uk http://www.nogginend.com https://www.metals4u.co.uk http://www.glrkennions.co.uk (worth visiting this website for the little Walschaert gear animation alone!) http://www.chronos.ltd.uk for various sorts of metal supplies in the past and have been generally satisfied with all of them. If you dont have a lathe that can swallow, for centre-drilling, the size of round bar you need, have a search for model engineering societies in your area. They can often find a member with a well-equipped workshop very happy to tackle one-offs like this, usually in return for some bottled muscle relaxant. Hope this helps. in friendship Rowland | Rowland Carson ... that's Rowland with a 'w' ... | <rowlandcarson@gmail.com> http://www.rowlandcarson.org.uk | Skype, Twitter: rowland_carson Facebook: Rowland Carson | pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/rowlandcarson
