Subject: | Re: Monowheel brake caliper |
As a public service, I've just gone down to a very chilly workshop to
weigh these bits for you. I hope you appreciate the effort!
The Matco wheel (with bearings), disc and caliper weigh 2.917 Kg each
(5.834 Kg per pair).
The advertised weight of the Beringer equivalent is 1.977 Kg each (3.954
Kg per pair) for the lightweight 5.00 x 5 p/n RF-002
or 2.445 Kg (4.89 KG per pair) for the heavy duty 5.00 x 5 p/n RF-005
This would indicate a weight savings on the mains (I can't get to my
nosewheel to weigh it) of 1.88 Kg or 0.944 Kg depending on which option
you go for.
The Beringer also uses twin pistons as standard and is beautifully CNCd
and anodised as standard.
I can't see why these would not make a worthwhile replacement for a
standard tri-gear. I intend to use them on my "Conventional".
