Subject: | Torque Tube enhancement after 400 hours |
Has anyone carried out the LAA requirement to beef up the torque tube/ mass balance
horn connection by using Loctite 603 only to find it has to be done again
a couple of years later? I am well within limits with free play in the elevators
measuring approx 0.2 inches which I anticipate was always there. Its a
pig of a job cleaning and reapplying the Loctite so any thoughts on this subject?

I'm also interested in views on this topic as I had to redo mine at my most recent
annual. My inspector recommended thorough degreasing and applying the Loctite
from the outside, not inside as in the original service bulletin

Dear All,
I have spoken to Roger Huttlestone & asked him to provide an estimated
price to produce a 2 wheel fuselage dolly based on the Targett design
and also a variable incidence wing dolly.
Will post results & hope we can avoid disappointing him with
unsubstantiated interest - see here for details

Hi
I incorporated a mod whilst building. I felt this was the best solution to the
problem.
This mod has just been incorporated into another europa I'm helping build.
See attached link to the mod.
http://www.theeuropaclub.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/11969-TTpins.pdf
Hope this information is useful? It has been flying in my aircraft for the last
2 years and no problems with it so far.
Kind regards
Donald
