Nightmare to pull out all the fasteners and metal. Yuk! In fresh water , just pull the engine and gear out, do some corrosion control and reassemble. Inspect, test and go fly! 4-6 hard weeks plus engine rebuild time. Salt leaching out of the seams, joints fastener holes etc. is a real concern. $25,000 insurance job in fresh water, but in salt water, I doubt it will return to fly. Would require a higher inspection requirement due to corrosion concerns and getting the fasteners out and changing trim motors and tailplane system on a classic is a bit of a pain.. Saved the pilots life and the environment.... Must be a good airplane. There is another picture from a local paper showing the engine broken off from the fuselage. WInd and waves I guess.
