Sadly, pounding waves and souvenir hunters have removed any hope of
returning her to the air.

Sorry to read about your misfortune Bob, glad that you walked away relatively unharmed
yourself.
Take you time, hope that in the end all works out for you!
When you are up to it, could you please let us know what happened?

So. Regarding grease for the nose wheel. On thread on this forum called "Damping
grease" I said:
I've tried the PG-44A [damping grease] from Newgate Simms. It's great. I put in
on the upper face of the friction plate. Now I can easily steer my plane easily
and I don't get the nose-wheel shimmy when landing. I'd thoroughly recommend
it.

All the best also from me and sorry for my post above - it was inadequate and not
funny.

Roland,
Your comment made me laugh whole-hearted, that's for sure.
Of course the comedy is now overshadowed by what appears to be the loss of
the plane. That's very sad, and I feel for the pilot/owner. There is still
the over-stretched voice at the back of my head that is saying it 'might?'
be fixable. I think of Thomas Scherer who has done it, and probably Bud, and
other names here?
Have a great day,
Greg Fuchs
