Subject: | Adjusting Angle of Incidence |
Hi All,
After finally getting my wings on again, I checked the Angle of Incidence to find
that the port wing measures 2.5 degrees - as expected but the starboard wing
measures 2.4 degrees.
What I would like to know is how do you adjust the angle when the forward (W27)
and aft sockets (W26) have already been bonded in place. From my investigations
today, I believe that the leading edge pin and socket on the starboard wing
needs to come up a fraction.
I expect this is not the first time someone has had to make this adjustment and
Im interested what solutions have been used by members of this forum.
Many thanks
Tony

Tony
I spoke to bud about this on my visit to his facility. It might be worth
calling him. But basically he said that even if you build perfectly the
incidence may change with finishing. Also that composite shifts over time.
My build is like yours .1 off. I plan to add vg to soften the stall.

Tony,
That may even be ideal as the aircraft tends to bank slightly left more so when
you are the only one on board left seat due to slipstream effect and weight.
I have a port aileron tab to keep wing level. Big vertical stabiliser and rudder
gives the slipstream from prop rotating clockwise a left yaw increasing lift
on right wing roll port.
That's a theory.
