Subject: | Re: Help needed! |
Vladimir, I recommend running your rudder cables through the wheel arch
in some hard plastic tubing, (with something like 6 or 7mm internal
diameter). It weighs next to nothing is virtually free of friction and
keeps mud off the cables. Route it the shortest way along the sides of
the tunnel. I guess fuel hose routing might depend on engine but for my
914 it worked well to come through the R edge of the removablebulkhead
at the back of the wheel well, then to run up the R side of the tunnel
roof to emerge at the top of the firewall section of the tunnel, where
it allowed a reasonable curved approach to the fuel pressure regulator.

Subject: | Trim Damper Bolt Length |
Hi All
I am attempting to assemble the Trim Damper system but the M5x60 bolt
appears too long and is hitting the bracket TS02.
I have used an FL14 spacer and AN960-416L washer on both sides of the
bellcrank bearing.
Have I done something wrong or am I supposed to trim the M5x60 bolt to a
suitable length?
Thanks for any advice.
Graeme

Sorry to hear that, David. Lundy airstrip used to be rabbit warren, sounds like
nothing has changed. I thought about flying there, as I looked across to Lundy
from Hartland Point through sheets of rain on 24th June (day after referendum).
Probably best not to. Good luck, best, Richard

Graeme,
You should not have to trim the M5 bolt.
TS03 bellcrank is supported by AN4-15A bolt with two FL14 spacers.
The friction assembly attaches to the bellcrank in the hole aft of the bellcrank
bearing. Fig 2 page 19-2 shows how the friction assembly is made. The M5 bolt
is secured by M5 nyloc and check nuts.
Hope this helps.
Jim & Heather

Thanks Jim and/or Heather
I realise my mistake now. I was trying to install the M5 bolt like a
normal bolt with the head up against the nut end of the TS04A shaft.
Looking at figure 6 on page 4 I realise that there is a gap between the
head of the nut and the end of the shaft.
Now I just need to order some replacement TS04B friction washers (due to me
getting some nickel anti seize compound on them).
Thanks again
Graeme
