Subject: | Re: Engine rubber mounts |
Dear All,
As I will be purchasing some Rotax mounts in the near future I would be interested
to know if the problem with the Europa supplied ones has been solved? Otherwise
it might be safer to go elsewhere!
Thanks for any feedback,
John

William,
Just a thought for you based on what I did. I flew a Dimond DA-20 for 10
hours before my Europa. I remember when landing that long wing thinking
that if it had a wing two feet shorter it would be much easier to land.
The Europa is just that and super easy to fly and land.

I don't know the size of your AHAHRS, but I have the MGL and it two units and I
place them on the overhear between the doors. I has worked very well for me.

Will,
I agree with Jeff. I did 4 hours of training on a DA-20 before I flew
my tri-gear Europa. Very similar takeoff and landing speeds and
character as well as handling in the traffic pattern. I flew with US
Aviation here in Denton. I don=99t know if they still have the
DA-20s or not. I know they have DA-40s & 42s and a crap load of 150s,
152s & 172s.
The Europa tri-gear is super easy to fly and land.

OK thanks
Bud is a good idea - I will ask him to start with. Failing that a DA20
Did you use a test pilot? Or did you just get in and fly having done the
training?

Subject: | Re: Engine rubber mounts |
John,
Karen has responded very positively and is taking the issue up with the suppliers.
Meanwhile she's sent me some replacement MT4s which do appear to be harder
than the ones I received last year but I haven't had chance to fit them yet.
Hopefully the problem will be resolved soon - it's probably better to involve Europa
because they are trying to provide a good service for us and we need to
give them the business - I dread to think how difficult it would be if we were
to have to trace down original suppliers and maybe get the wrong part. E.g. Andy
Draper informed us that the Europa mounts weren't standard Lord mounts but
used a harder rubber compound - so it's unlikely that you'd get the correct parts
as standard?
Best Regards
Roger Mills

Subject: | door latch plate |
Im working on the door handle mechanism. The pictures in the manual show the mounting
plate DL02 with holes all over, but my plate does not have any holes other
than the one for the spindle. The manual also mentions the Redux squidging
through the holes when bonding in the DL02. I plan to drill a few holes in my
DL02s - maybe not as many as in the picture - but wonder if anyone would advise
against drilling holes in DL02.
in friendship
