Subject: Used Rotax 914 F for sale
    From: "Roland" <schmidtroland@web.de>
Hi all, in Germany there's a Rotax 914 F for sale. It's currently installed in a club-motorglider. I know the president of the club from e-Mail exchange and he seems to be a nice and honest guy (BTW he also owns an LAA-permit- aircraft). He speaks English well. Here's the ad: _____________________________________________________________ 09.12.2016 Rotax 914 F3, Bj. 2002, 1400 h TBO-Erhhung auf 2000 h (neues Kurbelgehuse) in 2007. 5.700 Jrgen Mhringer 1.vorsitzender@sfc-hockenheim.de ____________________________________________________________ It's a 2002-model which has the 2000 h TBO increased by a new crankcase in 2007. It has run 1400 h and reached it's time-TBO (15 years) and therefore is no longer allowed to be used in the certified motorglider. Just in case anyone is in need of a 914 (I was a few years ago). In the manual it calls for a 1mm gap all round between transparency amd rebate. I happen to have an exact fit and am loath to start sanding having heard of cracking etc. Is the 1mm gap important? Thanks will

The 1 mm gap is so that the adhesive can properly bond the sides of the window and rebate as well. Trimming is not as scary as it sounds. I used a belt sander which works pretty easily. For the final trim it helps to do it on the plane itself. Have someone (#1 son in my case) hold it so you can fit-sand-fit-sand in quick succession. Take care to also not just scuff sand the gel coat in the rebate but sand it down to the glass. There is a design anomaly whereby the plexiglas is 1 mm thickr than the rebate is deep. Causes drag, extra filling etc so try to at least minimise it this way. -------- Jeroen http://www.europaowners.org/main.php?g2_itemId=44165 Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=463913#463913

Hi Rowland, I had an= 1/8" aly strip in my firewall fwd kit, 25mm * 257mm, in a poly bag mysteriously labelled "EURO65". I think it must be to make the "90 degree angled bkt". There is no dwg, so I guess it is wing-it time again. The tank has also swapped sides since the Classic, being on the port side on our Classic TriGear G-MFHI. I will stick to the new instructions. -------- David Walters 01474 816817 dave@robotas.com Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=463916#463916

Failing all of the above, B & Q stocks various sizes of steel angle brackets, which would only need suitable holes drilled and rust-proofing. Job done! Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=463918#463918
