There is no need for the nuts to be torqued as such in this application. Once the nut starts to lock up because of the spacer taking the load, turn the nut only enough then to align the first castellation for the split pin. In fact, depending on how it feels, it might be best to back off the nut to the first available castellation. Regards Kingsley in Oz. Seems like I'll have to be more careful with my power :-) Barry, thanks for your offer, but my mechanic in Venlo also has a lift. I guess that Christoph ade a good suggestion to change one vertical pair first, provided that one gets enough movement and space to insert the MT04's on the opposite side. However it should be a good idea to secure the engine with a lift. I did some research many years ago, I found that the Eur opa supplied rubbers were much harder than the Rotax supplied ones (I was t rying to reduce engine noise levels). Apparently Europa were supplied by a differnet manufacturer and hardness was notthe same. I used the softerones eventually and adjusted the engine alignment by using washers between the engine mount and the fuselage frame. The display on mine has failed after 19 years and I must replace the radio with a new 8.33 KHz channel spaced model. Someone very kindly sent me this information after I mistakenly told him that my old radio is a NARCO COM 810 TSO, when in fact the 810 + has the difference of one less plug pin connection. His was a 12 x 2 way connector, whereas mine is 11 x 2 way. Strange that the + version should have one less pin! Only a few of the wires in my airframe loom have identification labels, so if someone could provide me with more accurate info, it would save a lot of difficulty involved in tracing wires. I know this is a long shot, but I'm constantly amazed by the help to found in our forum.
