Subject: | Plexi delamination. |
I have a good bond everywhere except an are about 1.5 inches long but about
1/2 inch which is to say that I have 1.5 inches with just 1/4 inch of
bond. This is on the forward edge of the door plexi.
I tried drilling and injecting from the back but it appears it's not a void
but a de-lamination and the glue wont flow in.
So what I was thinking it to do a 2 ply lay up over the joint between the
door and the forward edge of the plexi ith araldite forming the the bond
between the bid and the plexi. Does anyone have a comment on this?
Thanks
Will

I would not worry about it,sounds like a small anomaly. If it becomes a problem
later then you can repair it.

Many moons ago someone posted a door strut mechanism that removed all
of the spring strut force from the door when it was closed. Does anyone
have a link or drawing of the design?

Number four. Installed and connected to a open door. ( I see that the
door was not fully open in this shot =93 the one behind is fully
open. It is important to get the stops on the stay middle pivot just
right so that the gas strut does not foul the lower half of the stay.
