Looks like the part number is GS86991. When you put it in their search box it comes up with this; http://www.sgs-engineering.com/nl5265-europa-aircraft-gas-strut -------- G-TERN Classic Mono Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=465730#465730

I think this illustrates our dilemma. We all want to support Europa Aircraft because we rely on them for parts that cannot be obtained from other sources. When it comes to parts that are readily available from other sources the factory are simply not price competitive. Gas strut from Europa 47.76 excluding taxes and postage. Gas strut from SGS (sold as a Europa Aircraft Door Strut) 18.99 exc taxes and postage. Delivered ex stock, ordered online. So what do we do? Thanks Jon. Ordered! It'll save my head, fingers, shoulder and passengers from nasty surprises. JonSmith wrote: > Looks like the part number is GS86991. Hello Carl, well, I'm not exactly an expert in flying abroad, although I've done it a few times. As for your questions: RT procedures are essentially the same in France, Belgium and Germany. All speak perfect English (okay, not as perfect as you of course :-) You won't hear "pass your message" when they reply like in the UK. Generally you'll get the new frequency on handover to the next station, if you don't have it already dialled in your radio. Just log in with Lille Information, Brussels Information, Langen Information. You don't need to clear customs, but only immigrations when entering the EU from the UK AFAIK. You don't even need to land on an international Airport to do so, although that might make things easier. If you need to refuel anyway, Calais might be a good stop for you. From there you can cross borders freely within Schengen states like France, Belgium, Germany.... If you are planning to fly to Bad Drkheim nonstop, I can check for you, if you can clear immigration there. You need to file a flight plan for international flights. When you've landed, you have to close the plan with the appropriate AIS (often AFIS offers this service on request, but in Bad Drkheim I can do this for you of course. When you fly back to the UK, you have to file the GAR of course. Keep asking questions and I'll answer them - if I can :-) Regards Roland PH-ZTI XS TG 914 Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=465762#465762

Subject: Cooling drag question for Bud
    From: "jonathanmilbank" <jdmilbank@yahoo.co.uk>
Bud, I'm in the process of converting my Classic to XS firewall forward and keeping the Rotax 912S with Airmaster CS prop. You recently wrote an interesting treatise on various causes of drag and I was particularly intrigued by your explanation of cooling drag. Now I better appreciate the need to seal the cooling duct effectively and how important the bubble of pressure at the cowling intake is to encourage unneeded air to slip past the outside of the cowling. This raises the notion in my mind of encouraging some back pressure. The pictures I've seen of other XS installations show the radiator extending across the duct and hanging down more than halfway. Behind that hangs the oil cooler, often extending a bit lower than the radiator, but never all the way down to the cowling. The question I ask is whether there would be a drag-reducing improvement by reducing the outflow of air from the tunnel with say metal plates partially blocking some of the gap, or perhaps this would simply cause oil and water temperatures to rise. I've also heard that the duct exit at the rear of the bottom cowling is the cause of a low pressure thereby increasing drag, so some outflow of air from the duct could help to reduce this effect.
