Hi All, Anyone had the clip fail? I've attached a photo. Is this:- 1) Safe to fly, in so far as to a mechanic? 2) Can I weld on another clip, or is it a new piece of exhaust pipe? I have a classic with a Rotax 80Hp fitted, this is the exhaust pipe from Cylinder 2. so: - 3) Can I buy just the first pipe? 4) On the classic this was a Europa specific part from Cylinder 2, am I correct? Jon, On more than one occasion, I have discovered after landing that I have suffered a spring loss on my Classic exhaust and there has been no side effect, so I would say that so long as there is only one joint effected you can fly like it, although I would not do too much flying in that condition. As for welding a new clip on, that should be straightforward although you have to find somebody able to weld stainless steel, which shouldn't be a real problem. As for a replacement pipe, Europa may have one, but failing that CKT Engineering, near Exeter will be able to sort one out for you. They did for me a couple of years ago. Hi All, If you recall I posted about a year ago, relating to PV50 and some vibration problems. Well, it has been an interesting year, and some stories which I won't write on a public forum, but I might share over a beer at a fly-in. A lot of the year has been a learning curve, and I used the time waiting for the PH-Reg to come through, to experiment and learn more Today I was coming to the end of a careful adjustments on the propeller, but still, alas, there is an imbalance. I'm getting about 0.25 IPS on the prop (attached is the outcome of the spectrum), this is now the main and seemingly only contributor to the vibration. I've managed to get all three blade-pitches to within 0.16 degres across all three blades, and the tracking is less than 3 mm. The blades are quite firmly seated now, after I have installed new plastic blocks. All of this has had no real effect. Today was a very quiet day at the airfield. There was only myself and my "plane work buddy". On one of the blades I heard a "tick", and on closer inspection it is evident something is loose on the inside (One of the static balance weights, I am assuming) Does anyone have any experience at all in setting the static weights on a PV50 blade? Is it possible without manufacturer support? Failing that, is there anyone with a spare blade that I could try in the position, to close off this investigation? I know the engine is not contributing, as the latest spectrum shows nothing significant at key engine frequencies, and in addition I have spectra from other measurements with my aircraft and a Warpdrive installed which shows very good vibration down at 0.08IPS. Hi Jon Well it is not the down pipe clip so it should be perfectly ok for a short trip. I have had several springs fail over the years it has never caused a problem, even when it was on the down pipe. Is that exhaust stainless it looks a bit corroded? Should be easy enough to get a clip welded on, but check with your inspector if you are UK based. Otherwise, as Dave Watts recommends, CTK Engineering can provide a replacement pipe, although when I needed one they wanted the old pipe back and made one to match. Thanks all. I noticed this at the end of a long day trying to resurrect the PV50 (other post). Because it was at the end of quite a long day, it really annoyed me, but it seems like it is simple to fix. I'll see on Monday, if anyone at work knows a local person to weld stainless... otherwise I'll speak to Karen/CKT and go from there. I must admit I am not sure of the material. I think it's the original pipe. I'll check with the previous owner/builder as I purchased my Europa. Best Jon Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=466016#466016

I too am fitting landing lights to my aircraft and have submitted a mod3 form. When I first contacted Andy he mentioned that the only "legal" landing light was that on G-TAGR. I have modified the outrigger speed kit fairings to hose them. Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=466017#466017

Hello, I need to replace/reroute some hoses in my 914 firewall. And looking where I can find a 4mm PVC tube for the 914 pressure sensor that is supporting high temperature found in the firewall. This one needs to end up near the air filter of the turbo. Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=466025#466025
