I did that in situ using the method and tooling described in an article written by Dave Bossomworth which was published in EF a few years ago. It takes time but it is quite easy. There are two points on rear cylinders where clips are awkward to get at. Can remove port intake manifold easily but not sbd as ignition modules are also attached to intake and engine Dave > On 4 May 2017, at 12:18, spcialeffects wrote: > > > Cut it! Dave - you can see how I did it on my web page for April 2016 - scroll down to the entry for the 14th: http://www.rowlandcarson.org.uk/aviation/europa_435/201604.php There may be a more clever way but that was what worked for me. BTW, if you are using the original Europa factory engine mount (rather the the one Neville Eyre supplies) you might like to see my template for the aft baffle as a basis for cutting & folding up your own. Let me know if youd like a copy. There will be pictures of my finished baffle shortly accessible through my Europa journal for April 2017 whch will be put up soon. in friendship Rowland | Rowland Carson ... that's Rowland with a 'w' ... | http://www.rowlandcarson.org.uk | Skype, Twitter: rowland_carson Facebook: Rowland Carson ________________________________ Message 8 _____________________________________ Time: 11:12:43 AM PST US Subject: Re: Europa-List: Nev Eyre Cowling Mod From: david park Thanks Roland, very helpful, my first look at it, i thought the screw hold the ignition unit to the sbd intake manifold was impossible to get at?? From: "patdriessen" Hi all. A couple of questions. First. I have a 1998 Europa tri gear variously registered C-GMKW, N-24070 and now ZK-VMC. c/n 095. All the paperwork I have say it's an XS model but the Europa factor says it's a classic.......any ideas? It seems to have attributes of both. Secondly. My Europa has the Pitot tube on the tail but does not appear to have any static source. Where should it go? Thanks for reading. A true classic has foam wings and the cowl with the radiators at the front behind the prop. You might have a XS hybrid like me, foam wings with the later XS cowl that had the underslung radiators. From: "Roland" Hi Patrick, the XS has a kink in the rudder pedals (at least at the pilot's side) whereas the Classic has straight pedal tubes. In addition my XS has a small "XS-type-plate" laminated on the bottom inside of the fuselage, visible with a torch through the upper inspection hole of the tail.
