Very sad to hear that Neville passed away. I first met him at the factory in 1994,
when purchasing my Classic kit. He gave me a lot of clear, practical advice
then, and during the build in Kenya. With his vast experience, he will be
sorely missed by the Europa community. My condolences to his family.

A very sad day indeed. I can't say i knew him well - but I was impressed with
his openness with Europa knowledge, how approachable he was and how responsively
he replied to posts on this BB. My condolences

Well done Jonathan! Nev was much too generous for his own good charging
hourly rates a small fraction of what his skills deserved. David Joyce,

What a sad loss. I can't say I knew him well. Met him in 1996 at Europa factory,
Kirbymoorside and he was so enthusiastic and proud about the Europa aircraft.
Very pragmatic, transparent and approachable. Always answered my request concerning
the build. My condolences to Carol and the family.
RIP Nev,
Tim

Nev has been a major part of my Motorglider wing build, a constant source of build
information and a good friend. I like all the Europa community will miss him,
he indeed will be the wind beneath my wings

For over 20 years Nev contributed so much. His cowls are works of art, and when
I collected mine from his modest facility in N Yorks in Feb, he seemed in fine
form.
He was enjoying performing yet another miracle, getting a Europa back into the
air.
The whole Europa community is in his debt, and this is a great idea to help his
family at a time when they need help. Thanks for doing this Jonathan.

Subject: | Re: TRIG TY96 and SmartASS 3 |
This is an update about the problem I had with the SmartASS 3 and TY96 radio. The
symptom was an extremely weak audio signal from the SmartAss. After extensive
investigation by Smart Avionics, TRIG and myself it appears that both the SmartAss
and the TY96 were working properly and the culprit was my wiring of the
radio audio output. The TY96 offers two options of wiring the audio output depending
on whether you are using an audio panel/external intercom or the integrated
intercom. What the Trig Manual does not say is when their "audio panel
interconnect" schematic is used, then the radio AUX input is inoperative, as they
assume that the AUX input of the audio panel/external intercom will be used
instead. However for those who want to use the TY96 AUX input and an external
intercom, there is one alternative solution: connect pins 2 and 3 together (those
pins normally go to the pilot stereo headset) and use that as the mono audio
output to the intercom, instead of using pin 7 per the manual. That may help
future users of the TY96.
I want to add that both Smart Avionics and Trig were both very helpful at diagnosing
the problem.

Ira - I think the model aircraft event (on Sunday 21 May) would have been for control-line
(U-control in USA), not RC. Nev was a long-time competitor in team
race events.
I will miss him - but I will have his cowl on the front of my Europa to remind
me of a fine craftsman.

Tonight 23rd May the JustGiving website seems to have crashed, but please don't
let this deter you from donating once it's back on line. We're making great progress
and have reached almost a third of the target in one day.
>From what others have written, it is clear that either directly or indirectly
Nev has benefitted many of us.
Thanks again.
