In my experience it is not generally necessary to avoid Brussels. I flew twice in the corridor between Brussels and Antwerp at FL70 and FL110 in a straight line. You are with Radar then, but it seems often to be easier than down low. Depends on the weather as well of course. You can try filter caps and maybe even an inductor in the supply line but the odds are against you. Cheap LEDs use cheap, noisy Chopping current limiters. Hard to fix correctly from the outside. -------- Ira N224XS Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=469998#469998

I found that problem and replaced with a better quality version, full European CE marked. I also put a ferrite ring in the power lead with a turn of cable though it and stopped the problem. Fellow Europaphiles, For all you 914 owners who were not able to acquire one of the Billet mechanical fuel pumps, dont feel bad. My pump lasted about 100 hrs before developing a significant leak back into the gearbox and thence into the sump. Its quite a surprise when you burp the engine to check the oil level and you have to remove about a pint of stinky, fuel-contaminated oil from the reservoir. Since the unit is not supported I am returning to the two electrical pump configuration as per ROTAX installation instructions (914 Installation Manual Page 84). I have been collecting the bits and pieces of hardware and fuel injection hose and will spend tomorrow putting it all back as per the manual. Looking forward too seeing Yall in about 6 weeks at AirVenture! Blue skies & tailwinds, Bob Borger Europa XS Tri, Rotax 914, Airmaster C/S Prop (75 hrs).
