300hr service 5.5 years - changed the carb rubbers on the 912S. Old ones perfect though, no cracking, still flexible, still in good shape. I have a preference for the Vega as a landing light. Initially thought of 2 off, 1 per wing. However, they are massively expensive (Spruce quote $425 USD) - therefore one only could be mounted under the chin intake. I drew up a fairing which aligns the beam to about 5 deg down based on landing config alpha. The idea was to have the moulding 3D printed (cost around 50 each) and hand finish to match the plane. We could progress this as a Std Mod if enough interest. ALso we may be able to get a better price for 5off or 10off 'bulk' purchase. Maybe discuss at the AGM (if the clouds clear and ceiling improves- currently -------- John Wighton Europa XS trigear G-IPOD Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=470434#470434

Hi Richard, It will be interesting to see how quickly they respond to your application. We can not send application till we are ready in Spain to notify times etc. So response time is important. Does Jose know any contact in ANAC to check status of application. We ate now three Europas travelling this time. Hi David, I think the important thing here is permission and not so much the dates. From three years experience as an owner/operator here, all seems ok just so long as ATC and ANAC KNOW who you are, not that you were supposed to be here last week! Jose is suggesting 10 days minimum notice so I would do this before leaving the UK and don't let planned entry/exit dates spoil your trip. Prior to entry, file your flight plan by Skydemon (or other) and you can always phone Lisboa on 00351 218553341 who are very helpful and will confirm your plan. Hopefully this is not a big a deal as the Notam would imply, but I may say differently on my planned trip out to Uk in a couple of weeks. Subject: WD blades in UK anyone ?
    From: "Dave Disney" <davedisney@yahoo.co.uk>
For reasons I won't mention here yet, I did a wheel up landing last week. I was able to switch the engine off before landing so the engine isn't shock loaded, but one of the Warp Drive blades 'dug in' and failed. The aircraft sustained very little other damage, just some damage to the lower cowl and a severed rudder cable. To save time, does anyone have a set of standard none tapered Warp Drive Blades available suitable for use with a Rotax 912S ? I've not had mine returned yet as not submitted, but a must do job for tomorrow. Certainly here end of July, Europas always welcome at Viseu and pleased to help out any way I can. Serra region well worth a visit if you can stay for a couple of days although might not be much 'room at the inn' as a busy time of year for us. Keep me posted as your plans firm up. Thanks Roddy and Ian So, normally open contacts, closed / operated by the vacuum caused by the wing angle and therefore light and buzzer should be off on the ground. Makes sense. Does anybody with this mod fitted test it on the ground and if so, how? A quick suck on the orifice like the Cessna. -------- Regards Kelv Weston Kit 497 kelv@kdweston.biz Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=470448#470448
