I have a build jig available free a Bicester UK.
It is a metal frame on three castering wheels, the wood that forms the fuse
      lage shaping needs replacing.
This was left outside my workshop by a previous builder and must be cleared
soon, it is a shame but I will need to take an angle grinder to it as my l
andlord has become aware of it.

Jonathan, I would have telephoned you but cannot lay hands on your
number . We have got something over 3700 received from Just giving and
the Europa Club has agreed to chip in a bit more so we have a healthy
sum to give Carol. I would like to get this under way ASAP and wonder
whether you like the idea of you and me + Sheila and possibly Ivan Shaw
all getting together to make a presentation and possibly take her out to
lunch at her best local pub (but giving her the option as she might not
be ready for that sort of socialising just yet. I assume that you live
somewhere reasonably close by, but if I have that wrong then the idea
may not be so smart. I am out this evening but in most of tomorrow if
you want to ring 07824 119254

| Subject: | Stabilator travel change |

Looking at the counter balance weight movement and a rough assessment of angle
of movement of the stabilator (down), the weight is not travelling so far down
the slot and the angle not so great and I am wondering what the cause could be?
The main tube has not rotated. I presume that if one of the tubes at the bottom
of the control column rotated the distance between the two bearing ends would
be the same (until one came unthreaded). It didnt seem to be anything to do with
the pitch autopilot. Any one else seen this? Or have a clue for me. I'm currently
musing on it while on holiday so no access for investigation till I am
back, I did do some brief investigating though.
A lack of tail down control might explain the feeling of "running out of air" in
my last two (slightly abrupt) landings; with not much airspeed and needing to
      flare to arrest descent.

      Hi David,

Sorry to reply so late, but I got back into the house at 23:00 after spending most
of the afternoon and evening in the pleasant company of Dirk Oyen.
You probably know that he's the appointed Airmaster agent for Europe and he landed
at my airfield, Longside near Peterhead, around the middle of the day en route
      to Oshkosh.

He's a university lecturer in Belgium, very widely travelled, who has also motor-cycled
from my old country South Africa all the length of Africa through the
middle East back to his home. We chatted quite a lot, with his Flemish and my
Afrikaans being mutually well understood. However I'm rusty after 40 years away,
so we soon reverted to English.

Anyhow, I greatly appreciate your kind offer to include me and my angel Sheila
in the pub lunch, but I hope you won't be offended if we decline. It's not only
the long distance involved, but Sheila's starting a protracted course of hospital
visits soon and I did state to Nigel Graham that I'd rather maintain a low-ish
      profile in this matter.

So please, if you Ivan and others could do whatever you think appropriate for Carole
(with an 'e'), I'll be totally confident that it will be handled in the
most sensitive manner. I'll try calling you soon.

      Sincerely and gratefully,

      Jonathan and Sheila
