Subject: | Europa Club Annual Dinner |
The Europa Club committee warmly invites all club members to join us
for the Club Annual Dinner to be held this year on 23 September at the
Charlecote Pheasant Hotel, very close to Wellesbourne Mountford
airfield. Local Europa pilots have been very positive about the venue
and it has good ratings on Trip Advisor. We are hoping for good flying
weather to allow folk the pleasure of being able to fly to the dinner.
We will plan to have a system to offer lifts to anyone flying in. The
hotel is reserving rooms at a reduced rate only until 25th August and
those intending to come should contact the hotel directly to book a
room. The dinner itself should be booked through Irene Watson - full
details including menu on the attached flyer.
We are extremely grateful to Irene for the excellent work she has done
in locating this venue and organising everything and we look forward to
this proving a very successful and enjoyable event.
Regards, David Joyce

I am sorry to report (with his approval) that Tim Houlihan had an engine
failure in N Gloucestershire and did an emergency landing in what proved
to be a very rough field, resulting in substantial damage to the plane.
He walked away from the crash but with a sore back and cut hand,
currently receiving attention in the JR Hospital in Oxford.

Subject: | Re: Arplast PV50 pitch change motor |
Hi Matt,
I apologise, back in May I was distracted by the birth of my first son, and so
didn't have much time to browse forums.
I do know that the manufacturer is Faulhaber in Germany, and so could have passed
this information on. I did some research because I wanted to install a CSC-1
controlled and I know this works at 12V, instead of the 6V rated motor running
at 9V from the standard Arplast PV50 controller. Which tends to lead to (I
am told; not experienced this yet a TBF of about 200 hours before the motor burns
itself out from the over voltage)
What I haven't posted yet, but am wondering, is as the original part is 2224U006SR
there is an mechanically identical 2224U012SR which runs at 12V. Has anyone
replaced the motor with the 12V version?
I can't see a reason not to replace with the 12V version. The rpm is slightly lower,
but as it's heavily geared anyway, the speed reduction will probably be
about 1rpm slower once it's passed through the gearbox. The torque is a little
higher, but this shouldn't matter unless you hit the mechanical stop... which
is what the micro-switches are there to protect.
Best,
Jon

Mono-drivers,
The brake line connects to the puck w/ a 90 degree elbow threaded fitting; the
threads into the puck are British Standard Tapered Threads.
Can anyone tell me the size of this 90 degree elbow BST fitting?andcan anyone tell
me the size and thread type on the other end of that elbow which connects
to the brake line?
I ask these questions after just having ordered a stick-mounted Beringer HAB02
hand brake lever.
