David, Airworld strobe stuff was supplied by Kuntzleman: http://www.kestrobes.com/ Duncan. ----Original Message---- From: davidjoyce@doctors.org.uk Subj: Europa-List: Strobe wiring? I am down to almost the last wire from my old fuselage to connect to the new bit and new panel and have run up against a problem with my Airworld Skyflash single head strobe. The wire coming from the driver unit is a fairly heavy gauge 3 core unshielded one with red, black and green wires. My problem is what to do with the green wire. The installation guide I have kept since 2000 doesn't mention it. Airworld went out of business a while ago. Internet search for a wiring diagram has drawn a blank, only turning up the same installation guide I already have, which is good on actual hardware fixing but no hint about the green wire. The driver is up in the tail cone where I really do not want to go! Can anyone help please? Regards, David Joyce, GXSDJ

Davind, sent you a pad document that i have if it helps - has a green wire in the diagrams. If any use then perhaps the Europa site Webmaster might consider adding to the knowledge pool on the Europa Site for future as they Airworld now out of business. Hi Dave Yes I had a similar problem a couple of years back. Ended up replacing the then 15 year old unit. Opened the box thinking it may be a capacitor but could not find anything obvious. The new website looks great, but will understandably take time to flesh out. Has anyone e-mail contact information for Mike Potts, the club Membership Secretary? I have a minor problem with which he may be of help. Gary, 'membership@theeuropaclub.org' should get you to him, and no doubt he will contact you directly. There have been massive challenges getting the new website up and running and many of them have fallen on Mike Potts' shoulders. It shouldn't be too long before everything is 'singing and dancing'! Subject: Stall Strips
Willian Daniel STall STrips I would be very careful with the first flight - maybe tape the stall strips near (about 18" out from the side of the plane). I had a very experienced Europa pilot fly mine first (Bud Yerly) who really knows the plane. He flew it with no stall strips and after he checked it out, I flew it with him. Without the stall strips my plane had a very violent stall behavior (it inverted). We then put the strips on with just tape and tried different placements. Once we got them in the best place we glued and glassed them in place. The plane stalls like a pussy cat now (a mild rumble and then a mushiness and then a mild break). Be sure when you finish off the plane for painting that you don't fill in around the stall strips to make it rounded - it is the sharp edges that makes it work, or so I am told.
