My thoughts were to blend from near the front of the wing, around the flap hinge and blend back out near the back edge of the flap, which as you say would in effect fence the outer edge of the flap when the flaps are lowered, as well as =9Chopefully=9D a meaningful reduction in drag on that hinge. Logically, there may be an effect in reducing the spanwise flow over the outboard section of the (fowler) flap, when the flap is deployed. But drag in that configuration is a definite advantage in getting the a/c on the ground. Might be worth exploring to see if there is any detectable decrease in stall speed? What say yee gentlemen to that. Or is it a lot of work for no real gain Regards Craig Kit 577, final prep before paint -----Original Message----- From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of zwakie Sent: Saturday, 14 October 2017 7:01 AM Subject: Europa-List: Re: Full trigear speed kit vs hinge fairings only jonathanmilbank wrote: > I particularly like this quote from Bud: "The flap brackets (especially the outers) are a huge drag source. So is the gear. Gear drag is interesting. The legs and brake callipers actually produce more drag than the tyres and wheels." Ok thanks Christoph --> <christoph.both@acadiau.ca> Same here, once all is installed, especially wires, the panel really fills up fast behind. Perhaps consider thinning out the cushion behind your back by 2 inches. Not much is needed for comfort and you gain 2 inches space and can possibly stretch out one of your feet between both rudder pedals while in cruise Christoph Both #223 Wolfville NS Canada On 2017-10-15, 19:17, "owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com on behalf of craig" <owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com on behalf of craigb@onthenet.com.au> wrote: Ok thanks frank Do not archive
