      Hi Will,

yours is an interesting solution for sure, but I think, that the Silent Hektik
product is an inexpensive, light and easy way if you have a standard Rotax 914
      already.

| Subject: | Europa Engine mount Reaming tool - Mod 72 |

      Hello there,

I am about to remove the engine and implement Mod 72 which is the Undercarriage
      mounting frame strengthening required.

I have the Mod Kit but does anyone in Auckland have the correct 16.5mm parallel
hand reamer I can borrow to do the job ?

      Happy to pay shipping costs.

      Regards
      Trevor

For sure....mine is like that because its a base model 912 and came like
      that.

That said i do like the fact that the engine is not electrically dependant.

      Hello Will,

to be independent of electricity is indeed a big advantage. However there are few
modern engines (Rotax iS, Continental CD 155 Diesel, car engines....) which
      aren't.

As far as I know there was only one (documented) electrical related accident in
Switzerland with a MCR01, which didn't have a standard setup if my memory serves.

That said, it's of course always better to have redundancy (other than just the
battery), especially in a plane and that is why I'll go for the Silent Hektik
      product.
