From: "John Wighton" 1mm SS is a bit overkill but is adequate to replace the FRP composite. If you do get some phenolic scraps you will need to use an FRP resin system (try a vinylester with an FRP rating) to bond them together. I used these grommets to take the avionics bundle into the FWF zone: https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/QuickCar-Racing-Products-57-820-Black-Plastic-Firewall-Grommet/1627012095?iid=391398057832&chn=ps Good luck. -------- John Wighton Europa XS trigear G-IPOD Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=485621#485621 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 06:18:00 AM PST US From: davidjoyce@doctors.org.uk Subject: Re: Europa-List: Anyone has some left-over pieces of the phenolic =?UTF-8?Q?firewall=3F? Marcel, I have some firewall material and would happily post some to you. I would make tight fit plugs and judge force them in, sealing around the join with the black or brown high temp silicone sealant which plumbers merchants sell for sealing round boiler flues. Larger plugs I might be tempted to fix with a few loops (effectively stitches) of stainless wire going through 1 mm or less holes. Very small holes I would simply fill with the sealant. From: "zwakie" Thanks John for the information. You're probably right that 1mm SS is overkill. Your suggestion of the plastic grommet will be taken into consideration as I have not yet decided on that part. -------- Marcel Zwakenberg Europa XS TG || 912ULS || PH-SBR Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=485626#485626 ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 10:04:55 AM PST US Subject: Europa-List: Tyre suggestions: Tri Gear From: "Rick Moss" My original 14 year old tyres are finally ready for replacement.
