Mike,
Balancing your prop will get rid of most of that also. Even at .07 (consid
ered a fine balance) one can feel the shaking at this out of balance condit
ion on a two blade. Get the prop down to .04 or better on a two blade prop
helps vibration quite a bit. Three blade props feel smoother because they
change the frequency of the pulses but they two should get a very fine bal
ance.
We have all gotten lazy as propeller manufacturers all statically balance t
heir props. However the spinner and on some gearbox engines, the rotationa
l balance of the engine/prop together still need to be fine tuned.

While I=92m not using the same Navigator compass as you, my compass is moun
ted centered on top of the instrument panel halfway back from the front edg
e. The problem that arose once I started flying, and it may only be my prob
lem, is that this area is not very rigid and my compass vibrates=85..a lot.
Enough so that I added some stiffening to the underside of the instrument
module. While it did help, it did not alleviate it completely. I just wante
d you be aware prior to your decision as this may have some adverse effects
for your compass.

Along with my Europa kit, I ordered the =93Navigator=94 compass which was o
ffered as an accessory at the time of purchase.
I ask because the mounting procedure offers little slack=85i.e., no second
chance...and I want to get it right the first time.
And I=92m wondering what that "optimum position=94 might be=85?=85
With only =93hangar flying=94 experience, my sense is that the best positio
n would be to mount the adhesive pad provided as high as possible on the wi
ndscreen, along the aircraft=92s centerline=85
A different approach would be to rotate the bracket with the mounting pad a
nd adhere it to the top of the instrument panel module, again on the aircra
ft centerline=85
Or is there, perhaps, another alternative?
Have Europa pilots with in-flight experience settled this question?=85or ha
s the digital world eliminated the need or desirability for what=92s become
a little anachronism?

Well I finally got tired of looking. During my annual, I placed my choke k
nob I was showing to someone someplace where I wouldn=92t loose it.
Dam this getting old sucks.
I don=92t care to buy a whole choke cable from Europa. I believe the choke
knob thread is BSF =BC-26 fine thread or fine brass thread. Does anyone h
ave a substitute knob. I need the nut also I guess, but I can make that al
so.
I am prepared to make and tap a T handle (easier to pull) and re-drill and
tap it to do the job. I really don=92t care to make work if someone knows
of a substitute knob.
If I have to make one, it will be as shown:
