Subject: | Which battery claims should I believe? |
My Varley Red Top 25 battery became elderly and tired, so a friend said I could
have a Lucas battery which he couldn't use. I tried it but wasn't happy with
seeming inability to hold a full charge for very long, so it must be replaced.
I've been aware for a long time that several/many Europas have the Odyssey PC680
installed, so I compared the specification claims of the Odyssey and the Varley
and the differences between the two are remarkable, although weighing the
same and of similar dimensions.
Odyssey PC680 12v 16Ah CCA170 7.0kg.
Varley Red Top 12v 20AH CCA230 7.0kg.
Who's telling porky pies? Why such large differences between their capacities and
CCAs?
