But it does not float well. You get wet. Not theory, all sadly very real. Now three years into new relationship with another Europa XS Mono. My standard equipment on long sea crossings is: North Sea spec. RFD liferaft Immersion suit Life vest PLB Flares Marker dye Handheld radio Multiple smaller survival items in grab bag. I remove some of the above from the list on short sea crossings. I strongly recommend participating in a sea survival course. If you have put in nav lights and left any sort of air gap the wings will fill with water and you are then in thesame sort of situation as a PA28, many of which have been timed as sinking in exactly 3 minutes! I've looked who I ended up buying it from but I can't find the invoice or anything in my email nor browser history, which is strange. But if memory serves they were in southern England somewhere. Anyway I had about 1m sent. I may have some left. Let me check in the morning and I'll let you know. You could have a length of that; but I'm in Germany, so shipping might not be the cheapest. I'll look into that also. I'd like to change it as there are some radial cracks appearing in the tyre wall. Being prudent I want to change the inner tube at the same time. So I ordered the replacement from Aircraftspruce.eu with the 06-09800 7.00-6 inner tube. Which is also mentioned in this forum as an acceptable tube The issue I've hit is that the tube as supplied by Aircraftspruce has a straight valve, not a 90deg valve. The tube that is currently installed on the aircaft, from the previous owner, isn't a McCreary one. It says made in Taiwan with no other information. Can anyone suggest a suitable inner tube and source for it? After ordering a cover for my Europa, I had asked if they had any of their aluminum coated reflector heat shields which would fit the Europathey said nothat they lacked a pattern. I alerted them that you would be at Sun N Fun and gave them your booth #, hoping they would stop by and make patterns for those shields. Knowing what I know now I wouldn't have bothered with a fuel sender - the sight gauge is perfectly adequate for me. They toss the small lengths of 316 SS tubing left over in the bin normally. I have to admit wheel tyre/tube combinations are a mystery to me and I don't fully understand them. The link you sent me is for a 6.00-6 tube. I have read elsewhere that you can undersize the tubes, but I can't find any clear guidance on how/when/where you can do this. I'm wondering if I could get a 6.00-6 or a 7.00-6 tube with a bend. After I posted last night, I continued searching for a while and came across these guys (http://wattsaviation.co.uk/) : I might call them on Monday.
