I know other have done this, so does anyone have a template, or the dimensions, so I can fabricate it at home, before removing the old one at the airport. Also, any recommendations for the source of the jubilee straps to secure it? You will need a non-reversing throttle ar m as the Bing carb uses a forward push to open and pull to close. I=92ve u sed it and find it workable and allows me to hook the choke, or make a thro ttle friction, or carb heat as you see fit. Of course, some figuring is ex pected. Getting one of these to fit in the tunnel was not a big deal. It just fit between the sides of the XS cockpit module. Also has a friction k nob if you like. Two Lever Quadrant w/Friction 05-15925-F $79.95 The ACS Vernier knobs are great also. Stay away from the cheap push button model which only moves when the button is pushed. Not for a throttle cont rol. You want the throttle to be smooth and simple. Comes down to what you want, multiple knobs or multiple levers. Each has a dvantages and disadvantages. Johnathan, It sounds as if your front bulkhead is the old style which is not adjustabl e. That is OK. The best way to make a permanent fix is to clean the insid e of the spinner, apply a thin layer of oil or release agent to the spinner , then apply RTV around the cap bulkhead. Push on the spinner and bolt it down and it will make contact and seal up that gap. Remove after cure and trim for a neat finish. Keep in mind that automotive RTV or silicone seala nt against aluminum will corrode the aluminum during cure as most contain c itrus acid (i.e. that acid taste) so you may consider using a non-acidic or neutral cure type RTV such as Dow737. Another way which I have never done, is to apply silicone sealant to the mo tor cap, so the bulkhead is proud of the end cap and push the spinner on an d bolt down. I have never done this as the plastic bulkhead still rubs dir ectly on the aluminum causing eventual wear as seen as aluminum dust. RTV is softer and less abrasive under vibration. Bottom line is if the gap is too large, the spinner screws will eventually wear and that is a fatigue source for an eventual crack in any spinner. I have decided to stick with the original design and go for the throttle lever arrangement. Im still having trouble however visualising this throttle lever housing and how its constructed. Does anyone have a picture of it that they can share with me? Seeing one would greatly help. Many thanks.
