    Subject: Motorglider Wings?
Clive, 1. The glider wings cannot fit on a mono trailer without modification. They will stick out far too much off the rear of the trailer to be legal al so. 2. Rare to have two Europa=92s that have wing pins line up exactly. I =92m not going out on a limb when I say it will be close, but there is near ly no chance for two aircraft to share a wing. 3. Glider wings are nominally 100 pounds heavier than the XS. Depends o n finishing skills, and whether Mod is complete. I add a spar cup for the mod 78 to make rigging easier. New Mod 78 forward socket sort of makes rig ging somewhat easier. The wings are heavy, it is best to build a trolley t o roll them around. I=92ve been banged up a few times from wings that =93g ot away=94 and rotated while going from load to aircraft. CG shift from short to long wings really depends on sweep and finish. In m y experience it shifts the CG =BD inch aft. Most of my short wings are at a CG of 60, and adding glider wings went to 60.5 or 60.6. 1. There are a couple mono=92s with glider wings. There is more mass mo ment of inertia so the rudder inputs to kick one straight may be slightly h igher. Landing attitude was figured pretty well in the design so landing p icture was not terribly different. Pitch on final with airbrake changes m ust be anticipated. No airbrake is a real floater. Making a slight fricti on stop on the airbrake at half extension works out fairly well. Achieving landing attitude requires patience. Float is significant. Europa Aircraf t has photos on the ground and in the air. I do not, sorry. Best Regards, Bud Yerly Custom Flight Creations, Inc. Those nylon legs do get stuck. I cut them off and drill out the center the n make a hack saw cut to relieve the pressure. Use a lathe to machine the new ones to make them a slip fit.
