Average usage up between changes (50hrs) is around 100 to 200ml. Generally l do not top up between changes. The engine is approx 600hrs. I have had it for 10 years. I have oil and water stats fitted. I do not do prolonged full power climbs. I try to adjust power level in a smooth way. Unless l am touring l don't carry spare oil in the aircraft. -------- John Wighton Europa XS trigear G-IPOD Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=489774#489774

    Subject: Re: Oil pressure/Flydat
    From: "Remi Guerner" <air.guerner@orange.fr>
Alan, The older Flydat only works with a version of the resistive VDO sensor which has the two connections isolated from the ground, while the then standard resistive sensor was grounded through the sensor casing. When Rotax introduced the electronic oil pressure sensor, they also introduce a new modified Flydat which does not work with the resistive sensor. I suggest you find out what Flydat P/N you have and search through the Rotax doc ( IPC, Install Manual, Flydat Manuals) to determine the sensor P/N you need. Then order it from Rotax. Let me know your Flydat P/N if you need more help. Regards Remi PS: my aircraft has the Flydat installed and I lived with that for 19 years. But I do think this instrument is really BS compared to any EMS available today. Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=489775#489775

Well, thanks to Olivier for the information indicating up to a maximum of 3 litres per 50 flying hours. That is most reassuring and I'll sleep better! Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=489776#489776

Jonathan, My former engine (912ULS) was using about 1 liter per 100h. when I removed it at 1300 hours. The new one has only 50 hours so it is too early to talk about oil consumption. Regards Remi Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=489778#489778
