sush, sleeping; Just submitted the paperwork for G-PATS for permission to test fly and initial permit. Been impressed with the classic cowl and engine fit (granted the radiators are a bit of work when removing lower cowl. My last one was XS FWFD. Can't understand why my Cof G was so aft; maybe it was the rain that came hammered down and sat on the paintwork just as we set up the scales. Think I have a local buyer for it who has got involved. -------- Graeme Bird Kit 2 in build, Mono Classic 912; Kit 1 G-UMPY - Mono Classic/XS FFW 912S, Woodcomp SR3000/3W CS, trutrak Gemini 2 axis AP, PAW, PFLARM, ads-b out, 8.33khz, mode S, FP-5, Aera500, SD on Nexus, Smart A3 380 hours, 980t g(@)gdbmk.co.uk Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=491907#491907

fwiw, I couldn't wait any longer for my bits to magically get into formation, so picked up N120EU from NC (1700km away).... hope to get it into the air in the new year (yes it takes that long for Canadian paperwork). I'm still building my kit (short and long), but life is short and I wanted to get my son in the air and licensed, and my Hummelbird didn't quite fit the mission LOL. 120EU (soon to be C-GNPZ) is built and finished beautifully by Troy Maynor, and I hope to get many a fun hour in her. That said, I'll as the forum again: Would folks have flight data on their classic 912ULS mono warp drive prop pitch (in deg)? Having hung up my flying goggles a while ago, I am now clearing out my garage/workshop. I have come across an Aircraft Tool Supply differential pressure tester which I used to use on my Rotax. I am reluctant to throw it away and wondered if anyone might like it? I am happy to send it for the cost of postage plus a small contribution to my cycling fund. Richard Iddon ex tri gear owner.

Hi! Richard, Only messaging you to renew chat acquaintance. I don't need any parts or tools for Europa ! I was forced to hang up my flying kit recently also ! 17th June I had a mini- stroke which indicated I had also ewndured multiple "silent" heart attacks too. To be honest I had been wrestling with a decision to pack up my P1 exercises , so this made up my mind for me , I had begun to feel threatened by recent IT developments ......radio frequencies etc. so I have to be concerned about damn medical appointments instead. I just had an angiogram but they found only a small blockage and it was at a branch mening it wasn't possible to put in a stent. I have a "pins and needles " problem with my left hand and I don't yet know if it is caused by the stroke or the artery blockage so I am now due for a carple tunnel op on my left wrist so I am hoping that will release some frustration, although I still have minor pins and needles in my right wrist after 18 months since a carple tunnel op . The surgeon had said it was like an egg timer ! but it didn't release the other wrist as he had promised! At least I have my driving licence back which I had major damn investigation exercises to endure which were an imposition when I knew I was competent enough to actually self certify to fly ! ........a very blunt instrument to attack my dignity, but I won through against a bloody snitch of a nurse in the local health centre putting the boot in .......so I have her card marked ! Well Richard I hope this finds you and yours as well as can be. Oh! My Son and Daughter have chosen to kick up and kept my Grand Kids on lock out which my son has caused by emigrating to Australia without a forwarding address my Daughter is currently marooned in Prague after trying to get full custody of her kids from her partner, all of which is tragically against all the kids best interests and personal wishes. If their Grandmother was alive she wqould bang their parents heads together! So confusion reigns! I hope this finds you well and wish you best wishes . Best wishes Bob Harrison ......and Sandra. -----Original Message----- From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Richard Iddon Sent: 22 October 2019 20:54 Subject: Re: Europa-List: Differential pressure tester Sorry Ian. Hi guys and gals, I'm new here as I've just recently purchased a Classic Tri-Gear with a Rotax 912S engine. I based in Ireland and you may or may not know that we recently had a tragedy in Co. Wexford (on the South East Coast) where 2 very experienced pilots (one was a very experienced instructor) were killed when their Rollason Condor broke up in mid air. This has made me think about Parachutes and I wondered if anyone has ever fitted one to a Europa or know of anyone doing it. Or if anyone has looked into the possibility/practicality of doing it. Cheers James -------- Seat of my pants Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=491921#491921

No personal experience with Europa though flew a tailless biplane glider for years with a BRS chute...the Cirrus install is dependent upon moulded in joggles to accommodate the breakaway suspension straps... retrofitting same on Europa would be a challenge while maintaining fuselage structural integrity but probably doable by some adventurous lad...considerable weight penalty and, I suspect, significant regulatory hurdles which would rule out a one-off installation. Not sure about Ireland, but in US we call it experimental aviation. Good luck, Fred Sent from my iPhone > On Oct 22, 2019, at 4:46 PM, Mallard <james@kingdom.ie> wrote: > > > Hi guys and gals, > I'm new here as I've just recently purchased a Classic Tri-Gear with a Rotax 912S engine. > > I based in Ireland and you may or may not know that we recently had a tragedy in Co. Hi James, I remember back in 2007 a Europa owner, Miles McCallum, looked into a BRS install on a Classic. The Flier magazine was covering its install, much of the stress analysis & design was complete. The project was abandoned as far as I know. As Fred said, fuselage integrity & considerable weight were issues. Retrofitting onto an existing completed airframe would also be much more difficult than during the build. Cheers, Brian Phillips.
