It was abandoned as it compromised the airframe and added mass. If the Europa Mk3 was to be designed a BRS type system could be included with lower mass and fewer compromises. I provided content for the Flyer mag editions which chronicled the build, authored by Miles. I intent to write a piece for the Europa magazine one of these days. I am currently re-stressing the aircraft and have a wing test rig and XS wing to perform a test to failure. He asked Karen at the Scottow Enterprise Park and she kindly sent him two samples; one black and one clear. But they both seem slightly too small in diameter, compared with what the late Neville Eyre supplied with the Matco brakes. The hoses which Neville fitted seem to be 1/4" = 6.3 mm. The question to you guys is "Where should we look to find the right thickness of brake hose? A go-kart spares shop?" My hoses are older than my friend's and I would likely soon need this info as well. Thanks. Returning to the hanger and chocking the wheel I got 5100 RPM and smelled oil smoke on shut down so I removed the cowl to find upper right stud on #2 cylinder had snapped off and was laying on top of the ignition wire so Im sure it failed on the ground because it surely would have been lost had it happened in the air. -------- N951EU - Tri-gear & 912ULS, N77EU- Mono & 914 I'D RATHER HAVE A BOTTLE IN FRONT OF ME THAN A FRONTAL LABOTAMY.
